Beautiful place absolutely love it. The cabins are so modern comfortable and the place is immaculate. Great staff, modern restrooms and great for all things from picnics to conferences.
More like party histing lodge. If you want a place to host a party them Molalatau is your place. There's no music you gonna have to bring your own sound system. Playground: There's none Restrooms: bad....very bad.
Lovely kept grounds and accommodation. Pity the restaurant and bar wasn't functioning. But the effort to ensure we got a breakfast is very appreciated after a long trip. Hope business picks up again.
9th August 22 Nice clean camping site under big trees . Ablutions clean .Location: 4/5
Such an amazing place, really beautiful setting and gorgeous well maintained gardens. What brings it down is firstly the accommodation or rather lack of maintenance done on the accommodation. And the hordes of day visitors pumping loud music from their cars, partying, drinking and comandeering the pool. This disturbed the tranquility and peace that one goes to the Bush to enjoy. This place could be amazing, but isn't, it's adequate if you need a bed to sleep in for a few nights. Please also note bar and restaurant are closed, so you must have all food stuffs. Charcoal etc with you as nothing available at camp.
Upon arriving at the Maartens Drift borderpost quite early, we opted to cross the border back into South Africa & stay over at Lephalale. We made a reservation at Molalatau Lodge & informed the manager Strephen that we might be a little late. Upon arrival at the camp jyst after sunset, we were awaited by Stephen & Mpo. They escorted us to the camping site & even carried a "braai drum" for us to our camping site. On mentioning to Stephen that we all would appreciate a hot shower, he made the bathroom of an adjacent chalet available for our use. Afterwards we found out that Stephen was actually supposed to be off duty, but opted to wait for our arrival. The camping sites are on lucious semi-shaded lawns.
The rooms were not up to the expectation. At some areas the tiles were lifted. The air ons were not working. There was no television in my room only marks on the wall where it was mounted. In some rooms were old type televisions with sabc channels only. The water was yellowish and could not brush my teeth fearing typhoid or diarrhea. We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. The was no tea/coffee in our rooms.
The stay was very good everyone was helpful and nice i enjoyed my sleep over
It is ok if you are just looking for the bare minimum. Restrooms: Dirty and smelly Picnic area: Ok with a pool
The most beautiful place, birdlife, tame bushbuck roaming, pity the ablutions look a bit run down. Friendly staff, pity they did not assist with pitching caravan tent, for pensioners that is a killer.
