Description

So I started my career in hospitality, everything from waiter, behind the bar to front of house eventually finding my passion in the kitchen. Staring from the bottom, sweeping the floors to peeling carrots for 12 hours. I eventually landed up in London where I was to find myself as part of a team that built and designed a restaurant in Victoria, Central London. Everything from decor to kitchen layout, I had the pleasure of learning from the best as well a a very well known restaurateur Bill Granger. Then I went and did it again and both are still running today.

In 2011 I found my second love Crossfit, now I put both passions together. Paleo/Primal/Mediterranean eating and cooking together. I make it my mission to teach people that the kitchen is not a horrible place and that food can be as simple as 1,2,3. Nothing says family, friends, good times etc like food does. Keeping it simple and to have patience in whatever you do, especially if it is what you love to do.

The first time I had Nigerian food was from someone's home cooking. The jollaf rice brought me back to those same flavors. I discovered this place when I was at Three Weavers Brewery that is across the street from Aduke. I had to have it, but the wait for their food is long since everything is made to order from scratch. I ordered, paid, went back to the brewery to have a few more drinks, and then walked back to pick up my food when it was ready. I waited a little over 45 minutes, but the wait and my hunger was worth it! I ordered their Jollaf rice platter with goat meat and a side of chicken. The flavors were bold and spicy. The goat meat needed to be braised longer as it was tough to chew on, but the chicken was cooked beautifully. Their mixed greens are out of this world! I wish they had a better paying system at the time, so be prepared to pay by cash or venmo/zelle. The wait time was only worth it because I was able to hang out across the street and have a few drinks. Their Nigerian food is definitely authentic and something everyone needs to try because it is not easy to find this type of food unless it's home cooking. Side of Chicken
