Manhattan Sweets

I bought 3 packets of sour worms and I'm not quite sure as the contents have gone extremely thin and stringy. Once can no longer see that the sweet is a worm as the worm used to have lines around it. Very shocking. Disapointed at the product.

My daughter recently bought a large packet of Manhattan Milk Bottles and while the expiry date is somewhere next year, some of the sweets one flavor in the packet was totally inedible. It had a chemical taste and an overall rubbery consistency. It was almost unbreakable. Obviously we did not eat it and contacted Manhattan sweets to collect and test the packet, because something obviously went really bad and we are worried about our health. Sugar is already unhealthy so we should really be able to treat ourselves once in a while with something sweet without worrying about other health issues. Manhattan on the other hand cared so little about their quality control, that they neglected to collect this packet of sweets for testing. No, they thought a small bribe can make it just go away, so they send us a standard gift voucher for R100, to buy even more of their sweets! We will now send this packet of sweets to their competitors, to test it and if needed make the information available to the public and the authorities. After the last listeriosis outbreak, I thought companies would take it seriously and act when the public brought something to their attention. Manhattan, please keep your gift voucher, we are not interested in bribes. Rather collect samples of your sweets and find out why our packet of sweets was contaminated. You can start by removing your products from the shelves, until you know what went wrong in your factory.

Did a phone installation for them this week and walked around the whole place. I must say the factory is nice and clean. And was pretty cool to see how the sweets are made.
