Marina Martinique B&b

The marina definitely has it's pros and cons. Pros: -many marine shops within walking distance - laundry, Auchan, bakery also within a walking distance - fuel dock is considered "public" so you can spend the night at the dock after they close - there is a large paved are for the kids to scooter and tode bikes etc. - it definitely feels very safe Cons: - no beach and pretty much no public transportation to any of the beaches local buses are very unreliable and rare - bathrooms close at 10 and are not in the best of shape -many stores close for a lunch break from ~12 to ~2. -wifi is a joke

This allegedly largest marina in the Caribbean disappoints on several fronts. There is virtually no public transportation to anywhere else on the island, and available car rentals are insufficient given the number of yachts thus demand, leaving taxis as the only very expensive and hard to get option. Shopping is limited - only Auchan with limited supply and a small market store. Toilets are basic and available only by code from the Capitanairie. Same with WiFi - and the signal is very weak, doesn’t reach the boats. Getting diesel and water may take a better part of the day. All in all - there is a huge room for improvement.

Marina with all facilities. Cleanliness everywhere and great transport accessibility.

Good place to start your trip

Nice and clean Marina with very slow services... Wifi works well close to the antennas. VHF 09 for sailors! Book in advance and get a proper confirmation. Expect no or very slow response to your VHF calls. Their standard answers are "call tomorrow at 9:30" or "Standby until 12:00" etc.

Nice marina, but crowded! We stayed on a mooring ball. The marina has hands on dinghies that guide you to your ball and help secure the boat. The mooring field is extremely tight and difficult to maneuver in on our 47ft sailboat. Leaving in gusty winds was a real challenge. Other than trying to pack too many boats in, this is a nice marina with decent rates.

Great, safe, sheltered marina. Locals are cool, facilities are good. Food & wine is French. This is our kinda bay.

Good service, M-F, weekend staff a bit abrupt but OK. Marinairos excellent.

Many boats and very busy place. For this reason there are lots of supplies and parts available. The starter went out on my boat when I was about to leave. I went to the parts shop and they actually had it sitting on the shelf. No need to order and was on my way the next day. Also able to rent a car easy and get stocked up on groceries.
