We bought a birthday gift for our workmate. They put her Name in front of the watch and a special birthday message at the back. Packaging was good too. Satisfying.
Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the service we received. Besides many delays watch was ordered 27 February and was told it takes about a week to receive which we were willing to be patient for, we were never given a satisfactory product. The first time: we were asked to collect the watch, they had problems assembling the watch and we had to point out the colour of the arms were wrong and so we had to leave. Matt offered to deliver the next day. Tina offered us a free bracelet which was generous for the delays experienced. The second time: Upon delivery the minute ring around the inside of the face was missing as per advertised in the picture we ordered and the strap paint was peeled off see photo. Third time: Matt offered to make a whole new watch. Upon collection the strap was still peeled and we had to wait for a new strap to arrive. Matt advised he would have the watchman come to us to fit the new strap. This was suppose to happen yesterday. We were not advised that there are further delays and the strap has not arrived. Upon closer inspection we also found a scratch on the sapphire glass face. It is now 12 April and we have become frustrated. The watch is obviously of poor workmanship as it appears the strap will keep peeing. It is also ridiculous to have a product go out to a client that is incomplete. It is also poor service when you give dates for collection or delivery and it is still not ready. We have opted for a refund. Consumers should further note they delete negative reviews on their facebook page and website so look at these google reviews and hello peter reviews for the truth about their quality and service.

This company is a scam I ordered a watch last year during the month of February I've never gotten my order, sent them a couple of emails till to date I haven't received a reply. I would advise people that they shouldn't buy from this company.
I am so disappointed with the service from Matt Arend Watches. I inquired about a bespoke piece for a birthday present about 2 months before the birthday. The initial correspondence was wonderful and then silence. A month later I was getting worried because I needed to find a back up present and time was running out. After several inquiry emails and Whatsapp messages with no answer from them I realised they are in no need of my business. This is not a company that you can rely on. I am appalled as we want to support our local business there are not many watch companies in South Africa but with this kind of service how can we?
This place are the worst! I have ordered a watch for the first time, made my EFT payment. Waited 3 days for someone to respond - only to be advised the watch i ordered is out of stock! After stressing about not getting hold of anyone, thinking this is a scam. I have tried contacting ALL the numbers I could find, yet no one answers, doesn't matter what time of the day I call. And to put the cherry on top, I have to struggle to get my money back for a product I did not get yet - and which I no longer want. How do you deliver such bad service??
They charged me extra R2000 accidently by card machine, there is no problem so far, this kind of things may happen. When i wanted my money back, they said they would send the money back 2 times. OK. However, now 3 months passed, i tried to reach them +10 times, they are not replying, not answering my calls, not reverting to my mails. I lost my hope about receiving my money back; just letting you know DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from here; you can find similar designs even cheaper prices but definitely with better and more honest customer experience everywhere.
Don’t order online – it’s a fraud! I ordered and payed for three watches on 9th of October 2016. Now, more than one year later, I still haven’t received anything. Several follow-ups promised by “staff” via E-Mail and Facebook. Even Matt, the alleged company owner, called me and promised to send the order. That was almost three month ago – and nothing happened again. My demands for a refund remained unanswered. Ridiculous!
