The MGSLG exists to expand and enhance the vision and quality of leadership that guides education and learning in the schools of Gauteng and beyond.
MGSLG offers training in the following programmes: School Leadership, School Management, School Governance and Teacher Development. The Teacher Development programmes are new and now include Early Childhood Development, Foundation Phase, Intersen Phase, FET PHASE, and Middle Manager's.
MGSLG exists to expand and enhance the vision and quality of leadership that guides education and learning in the schools of Gauteng and beyond. It is dedicated to elevating School ManagementTeams', School Governors' and educators' understanding of learners, learning and learning systems as well as to helping them to translate this knowledge into constructive action. This is achieved by bringing to educators at all levels leading-edge research, thinking, frameworks, strategies and professional growth experiences.
Our Strategic Goals are to commit to the following mandates and key imperatives:
* Mandates from the MEC and HOD of the Gauteng Education Department (GDE)
* responding to the strategic plans of the Department of Education and their research reports
* Maintaining our quest for financial sustainability
* Taking forward lessons from the initial five years
* Responding to national priorities
* Responding to emerging education and training needs
Leadership and Management Programmes through its delivery of ACE (School Management and Leadership).
The provision of relevant capacity-building programmes for school governance. These support and develop School Governing Bodies (SGBs). MGSLG has a package of programmes intended to develop SGBs in their key roles and responsibilities as per the South African Schools Act. These programmes also link to community-based development needs.
