We checked in on Friday at 5pm. At about 5.15pm room service knocked as they had just finished cleaning the room and forgot to replenish the milk and coffee. Room smelled of drain and sewage for the entire duration of our stay. Another guest down the corridor asked me if we had the same problem. Visible damp problem throughout the hotel. Hardly slept - room service knocked at 7am Saturday morning to clean. The guests staying opposite us were partying till early morning hours on Sunday. The only thing nice about this hotel is the breakfast. That's about it.
Honestly, the 2 stars are because the staff was quite friendly. The facilities were good but idk if its the management or the maintenence which wasn't good. I had to change rooms. The plugs in the standard rooms barely work and were impractical. I mean, no plugs by the bed side? HOW?! The air conditioning is a joke. Couldn't even operate it. Let me not get into those old ancient tv sets! I was unimpressed when I had to call reception to send housekeeping at 4pm because they hadn't cleaned my room. There was a small pillow that was dirty and disgusting. It is in a great location but I think they have failed to pay attention to detail and that was quite unpleasant.
I experienced the worst service at this hotel. I've been to many hotels and therefore acknowledge that perfection is a myth, but this particular hotel was by far my worst experience. You're told to dial 2 when you check in but the gods are with you if that gets answered. You'll most likely need to dial out to the group who then transfer you to your own hotel, that transfer call they somehow do not miss. My room had no towels and I waited for over an hour for said towels. This after me screaming at the manager on my 10th transferred call because at this rate I would be late for my conference. I won't even go into the funky smelling bathrooms. Checking out was also an experience, I stood there while the lady at the front desk was giving updates to a friend on her personal life laughter and all. As I was about to leave, someone stepped in, imagine that.
Don’t think it was worth the price. Around 2.2k per night for a standard king room. Quite a small room firstly, there’s no actual door to the “bathroom” just a curtain. There’s two separate one to the shower and toilet but still wasn’t fond of the curtain. Pool is average but it was rainy most days I was there, and the housekeeping staff wasn’t the friendliest. We went to get breakfast and so they came to clean but the bed was made horribly and they didn’t even put the pillow cases back on and took all our towels even the clean ones that we hadn’t touched which is a waste of water. If they went done cleaning they should’ve stayed in the room or something but we took a while with breakfast. And they didn’t put bar soaps for the sink and didn’t want to give us more shampoos even though there was only one in the room and we are two people. The one good thing is breakfast which is why I give this a 2 instead of a 1 star. Great spread, a lot of options. Pancake machine, omelet station, fresh fruits and pastries. Overall great breakfast choices even if the quality was substandard it’s still a decent breakfast.
Booked in on short notice. Reception guy had a bit of attitute. Looked like he had doubt of we could pay as we had a long day driving and shopping nd did not look like the usual guests i think. I felt a little intimidated. Room was small but comfy. Shower and toilet very small. Shower water all over floor and can be a risk when you slip and fall. Even though we paid R2250 for two people we only got one soap and one shampoo. Bed side table stil had spilled coffee marks from previous guests. Breakfast looked amazing. Chef making eggs was awesome. Bacon was cold and pastries old and dry. Food were avarage to bad. I really expected more for the price i have paid. Noteworthy details: Its like a glorified NextBed motel
Pathetic service : a booking was made via the hotel's platform, R 6294 were debited from my account and a booking confirmation was sent via email. Upon arrival the hotel, the counter staff said no booking appeared on their system, I then showed them booking confirmation received via email as well as the proof the account got debited of R 6294 however they didn't care and called their "manager" who said to me that he still had to charge the full amount. I explained to him it is their problem that the booking doesn't show on their system but on my side i was able to provide proof a payment was made and that a confirmation of the booking was received. He said with a "no care" attitude that he would charge the full amount anyway and if i'm not happy I can just go look for another hotel. As we had no other choice, I proceeded with the full payment thinking they would reimburse me the overpay during the week but they are only interested in taking your money, it has been a whole battle for them to reimburse the money they overcharged and we finally received it after 3 weeks. This was the second and last time I am booking with this hotel
Dirty underneath beds. Lights and some sockets faulty. Bath plug faulty. Shower and toilet doors don't close properly. Incorrect room given originally. Definitely not value for money. Better options at lower prices close by.Rooms: 1/5
Nice area and close to the casino. Rooms were a bit small and the showers water leaked into bathroom. Great service and friendly peopleRooms: 4/5
The hotel is good for one night stay. Beds are comfortable and there were ample supplies of refreshments in room. Room was a bit small and aircon was not user friendly. Hotel was clean and close to the entertainment and casino. No problems with parking or staff. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Would prefer being notified upfront that you have to pay seperate for children eating breakfast. Rate is high it could surely have been included.
Room , Location and breakfast were good. 1 star need to be deducted from the Service experience at the front desk.
