Midrand Gautrain Station

Trains are not so full so you always get a seat. You can purchase your ticket on the gautrain app and it loads on your gautrain card, alternatively you can use your bank card to tap in and out of the station. You can also use the gautrain app to see what time the train leaves.

This Midrand Gautrain station is situated at corner Pretoria and Grand Central street Midrand . It’s such a clean station as always. The staff is friendly , eloquent and nice. The security is tight yet also very understanding. Trains run like a swiss watch in this place. I like the digital clock on the wall telling you the time exactly. The parking I think was designed with the thought of low masses because it’s just always full during the week. I really wish these Gautrain guys could add some more carriages during peak hours because it’s like a bit to touchy touchy sardines in a can. Our whole Gautrain system as a whole is wonderful and truly 1st class world class standard with prices to match that world class standard of course.

So on Thursday, I took a Gautrain to Midrand and the train itself was great as usual, no complaints there. I was going somewhere the Waterfall area in Midrand and I had to take a Bolt Taxify. My phone just froze from nowhere and I had no way of contacting anyone, obviously I was stressed and panicked. When I asked the Gautrain staff for assistance, I asked for a phone to call my sister; they refused for me to use the phone or assist me in any way. A stranger outside the station helped me and I was able to call my sister who requested a Bolt for me. My complaint is that the staff were not helpful at all; I am a customer who was in need and they didn't make any moves to assist me at all. Gautrain stations should have phones; even if I had to pay, I wouldn't have minded; I was having an emergency. Does this mean that if I have an emergency, I should not expect Gautrain to assist in any way? Do you train your staff to be callous and uncaring? I am really disappointed in Gautrain Midrand.

The train was on time and a truly worldclass experience. The only detractor was the machines at the entrance and exit points not working 100% and not able to read my silver bank card.

Perfect, though the security lady wasnt that friendly, she couldn't tell me in a nice way ,no food allowed, i was chewing my last bite she wanted me to swallow to spit out ,it was crazy but otherwise gautrein itself is super efficient

Very secure, clean and organized. Plentiful parking spaces. Spacious grounds. Trains run on time.

Very neat and spacious. Trains were running exactly on time. We bought a card and recharged it. The wait time is very very minimal. My husband and myself went to Sandton and came back by train itself. Good way to escape traffic on weekdays. Had a pleasant journey.

For someone who was afraid of trains, this experience was life changeably great. It was easy figuring out everything that had to do with my trip. The personnel on and off the train were super helpful.

One of the most simple station as signs are clear and it's not complicated to see where you should go

Clean and well organised. Wish every rail station in our country could be like this.
