I have been sponsoring a child to go to Midland Primary and High School to in order to give her a great opportunity for the future for the last 5 years. The teacher turnover is exceptionally high, the average class marks are really poor, I have been forced to now move the child in grade 11 to another school as the quality of education is really poor. Also, I paid for the school fees annually in advance and now taking the child out halfway in the year due to poor education quality especially in Maths and Science and they refuse to refund me some of the school fees back if I had paid monthly this would not have been a problem. It is not often that I do this, but I absolutely do not recommend this school. In Midrand we have lots of school options and this one should not be on the list.
My child has been attending this school for the past 5 years. Over the 5 years I have seen many changes and developments. The school has digital smart boards in all classrooms and they have two computer labs for learners. I am very happy that the school offers robotics for learners. The standard of education is very good. Kids get homework everyday and they are occupied for most of the day. I would highly recommend mphs
I taught at this school and it was my best experience. I loved going into work everyday and would teach there again in a blink of an eye lol. Best Best Best school
This schools professionalism and ethics are so bad. There is no consistency with communication. We get newsletters when the school feels like nothing for two months now. No parent meeting yet for the term 3 report. This school is very quick to send letters for us to pay money. This money issue is crazy!! Every time there is civvies day, activities and shows. It is surely that i spent over R200 for civvies. Activity days over R100.All these shows for the year. These show prices are unbelievable, upon discovery by another school. This mobile zoo charges R40, we asked to pay R80?? I am happy that there are activities for the kids but the prices of things are shocking. We parents are getting exploited this entire year for all this money we are paying. All this money for each child is being raised for what. Are we seeing the results, we give and give and what does this school give to the kids? My child says that she feels like she in a public school, the classes are untidy and does not have any charts to learn and feel like a private school. No sports field, not even cupboards and sporting equipment that they use. We pay and pay, we parents would like to see our kids benefit from this. A public school in Midrand has way better facilities and better fundraising ways for the school where it is allocated to our kids and the development of the school. We must feel proud of this school and not when a principal is doing this to us parents. I hope this is looked at and changed. My child receives a good education but this lack of ethics is unacceptable.
My son matriculated from MPHS and my daughter finished grade 9 last year before moving to Cape Town. The current principal was always helpful and assisted in times when the kids needed her most. She was not just a teacher she was always like a mom away from home. The kids has fond memories of her as a teacher and a principal as well as many other teachers. The school has improved from time that the kids started. The premises has upgraded and there are fun activities to keep the kids occupied.
I graduated from this school in 2018, and honestly I had a very memorable experience. Its something that I would cherish forever and I still keep in contact with some of my teachers to this very day. Some of my teachers are the reason why I am pursuing a degree in education. I've made some good memories and friends for life thanks to mphs. I'm really proud of how far and how much they have grown as a school over the years. This school has nothing but positivity from me.
The response from MPHS to a parent's review Thembi Nkosi is a standard template, is unprofessional and a lie because the reviewer speaks of her daughter, yet MPHS is referring to a male student. I can already see this school is unethical. Since a parent has a grievance with the school, and the school didn't even have the respect to read her comments properly of note her frustrations, and they rush of to defend themselves. This is highly unprofessional, and disrespectful and already shows me why I should not be putting my kids at such a school. Also shows MPHS is immature and cannot accept accountability and thus are not interested in improving themselves as they feel they are better than parents like Thembi. Reviews like Thembi's and unprofessional responses like MPHS helps us parents make the right schooling decisions as schools punt alot on websites but do not speak and bring out the real truth around the school quality. Response from the owner3 months ago Dear Parent/Guardian. Academic and learner discipline is the heart and soul of MPHS. Your child's re-registration was rejected based on your child's academic and behavioural performance. Kindly note that you have had a 3-month notice period …More
My experience at Midland Primary and High School has been exceptional. My children are happy and progressing very well. The teachers are truly invested in the children’s education and growth. Great school!
By far the best, well organized and affordable independent school in the Midrand area, this year was my Son's 1st year at the school and there has been a phenomenal improvement academically, well done to the staff at MPHS keep up the great work.
Excellent school, focuses strongly on building the kids emotionally and mentally preparing them for the challenges ahead, Great teachers who care for their learners. They create a fun environment for kids to embrace learning.
