First visit after a few years. The place has so much potential but has sadly declined over the years. There were fewer animals than I remember other than the monkeys trying to get into the cages!, some of the cages have fallen in, and you can see the remnants of last year's flooding. All in all, it is still a lovely outing for the family and is very well priced.
Really enjoyed a walk through the park and visit to the zoo on a nice day. It was only 28 Rand for an adult entry ticket, and there were quite a few things to see. Most of them were birds instead of mammals and some were missing from cages / enclosures which was slightly disappointing. It was also not the cleanest / most well kept of zoos but it was still nice to see the animals! Loved the peacocks wandering around!
A most pleasant trip down memory lane with little that has changed except the fact that I had my next generation with me and the opportunity to share the moment with loved ones in a place I visited nearly 35 years ago. Nice park, but not too much to see. Anyway, it is a pleasant walk and fresh air. Entrance cost only 14 rands / adult.

This is the park from my childhood...and I believe the playground equipment hasn't been updated from that time. Took my daughter to the park while on vacation in SA. The grassy part was pretty and well kept, but the playground equipment needs some fixing. Beware of monkeys. We also went to the zoo. There seemed to be less animals than I remember. The birds are nice but some parts need maintenance. My daughter enjoyed herself.

Awesome place for kids and families to visit. If have not already. I remember this place from my childhood days. Its R14 for adults, and toddler was free. There place has changed over the years. Some of the animals are still there like the big turtles...The place does need some renovations etc. The highlight this past weekend was the Billy goats....they stank but were so amusing to watch, as they fought for the females attention and the beautiful peacocks.
