Cricket is consistently one of the most popular spectator sports in South Africa.
For the next six years, Momentum is the official single-title sponsor of all one-day events under the jurisdiction of Cricket South Africa (CSA). The contract gives Momentum full sponsorship rights of one-day international (ODI) cricket as well as one-day domestic events, both at franchise and affiliate level.
The Momentum sponsorship kicked off with the Proteas' tour to the UK in July 2012. Momentum has secured the broadcast rights to all five ODIs of the UK tour. Later in the season Momentum will host the three ODIs included in New Zealand's tour to South Africa in January 2013, followed by the five ODIs against Pakistan in March 2013. The sponsorship period also includes the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
The sponsorship has a specific development focus and will boost the sport at provincial level through the National Club Championships
