Mount Currie Inn,Kokstad

The service rendering was so horrible which was quite disappointing given that this establishment was formerly well esteemed. There is a mean old lady who manages the place who cannot even provide a cordial environment when interacting with customers. Small gestures such as a greeting during interactions or even a friendly welcome to guests could boost the service at this establishment. When interacting with the manager, she attributed her lack of hospitality with being overloaded with work which is unfortunately a poor excuse in the lodging industry. It was a pity that our entire booking was paid for in advance and we could not change the venue. We had to endure the cold and sit outside during the conference when there was a mild hail storm even though we had booked an indoor facility for our two committees. On the second day, temperatures were at 18 degrees Celsius and we just couldn’t brave the cold anymore. Food was also quite substandard to say the very least. Orders were mixed up on room service. The only decent thing on the menu was the mutton casserole and dumplings which is what gives this establishment a one star instead of zero. I would not advise going for the buffet option unless you have a mild uncritical palate.

Very very very bad service. My husband stayed there for business. First I could not book online, I assume the system was of line. I asked for an Executive Room, she booked him into a self catering unit. When we complained she changed it. I asked for dinner to be included. My husband had to pay for dinner. Robbed again. We paid over R900,00 per night without dinner. Their web-site say R475,00 pppn. Robbed again. Bad attitude at reception also. We will not recommend Mount Currie at all.

Excellent service and delicious food at the Guinea Fowl Roost at Mount Currie Inn. They're prepared to try and cater for special diets. It's a great breakfast stop enroute to Kei Mouth or East London. All they need now is a deckFood: 5/5

I usually stay over when im on work trips, doing store visits. Comfortable and clean and they have a generator.

Nice coffee and nice sandwich. Liked the fact that butter was not too thick. Loved the accommodation at great hotel. Lovely rooms.

Best breakfast I've ever had in Kokstad

The hotel has a rustic feel. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Electric blankets & air-conditioning are provided in the rooms. because of the cold in the area. Dinner was delicious. The bathrooms could be cleaner, though.
