I'll rate this place as a conference centre because that is what I was there for and I didn't utilize their guestrooms. 1 star for Peggy, she was the only good and competent thing about this place. Always served with a smile and always nearby to assist with queries. Also beautiful flower garden On the other hand, the service here is beyond horrible. Furniture in the conference room is outdated, all bathrooms I used had a weird smell. I don't even want to comment on the food...half a star. 1 morning I tried to order breakfast and they wanted to inflate their prices to more than what they had priced on the menu, so I left it. We were given a 500ml/1L carafe of water to share between 2 at the beginning of the day and it would never be refilled during the course of the day. Mind you most couples would go through the water within the first 2hrs of the day. No parking for attendees so you have to park on the road. On the first day of the conference I wasn't aware of this so I called reception to find out where I should park and was told very rudely that I park on the road. If you thinking of booking this place for a conference, I would totally advise against it
Was so disappointed with the room I got, I expected to have fresh air was so hot inside even with the fan on. No carpet or a small mat in the room next to reception. The area is good but thanks I ain't coming back. Not worth it
Firstly, a big thank you to the owner, Michelle- what you have built is something remarkable, truly a hidden gem in the Cape Town CBD. I travel to Cape Town often for work the remote life and once again, I returned to Mountain Manor for a 2 month stay. I ended up spending my whole day on their premises. Rotating between working in their dining room, outside in the canopied garden or around the pool, what a tranquil treat! I stayed in Suite 20, a newly painted, really cute apartment for me, myself. Looking out onto Devils Peak through the trees, a lovely quiet apartment where i could relax and cater for myself when I felt like it. After a day of work I could wander down to the communal pool area and sit and read my book with the birds chirping alongside me, just what I needed!!! Thank you Michelle for spoiling me with all the information I needed for a superb stay. I will be back.
What can I say about Mountain Manor? Not enough good things! I’d been communicating with the venue owner and manager, Michelle, for two years through one COVID postponement for a small wedding I was planning. Planning a wedding internationally from the US was not easy but Michelle was so helpful in making sure our special day went off without a hitch. The manor was the perfect setting for our intimate jazz wedding and really provided a unique and memorable experience for us and our guests. The garden areas are quiet, lush, and serene and the interior of the house is quaint and romantic. Michelle and her staff also went above and beyond making sure our stay was comfortable and our guests well looked after. While this venue is not primarily for weddings if you are considering a unique experience I highly recommend it! Will be back to visit and stay next time we are in town! Thanks for the memories!
Mountain Manor was perfect for my daughter's wedding ceremony! Michelle worked with my daughter tirelessly thru the cancellation because of covid the first year to rebooking and making everything magical the second year when we all finally made it to Cape Town. Planning a wedding can be stressful in itself but long distance from the States was a feat not to be taken lightly. Michelle was absolutely extraordinary in supporting and arranging everything. The venue was classy, quaint and beautiful! We stayed for two nights and I so enjoyed the patio, bird aviary and classic decor of the manor. Michelle and the staff were all so professional, caring and dedicated. Relaxing and tranquil! Thank you Michelle!
Would give 6 stars if I could. Absolutely stunning space with an extremely relaxing energy and real, vintage charm. Michelle and her team are the friendliest, most accommodating people you'll ever meet, and were flexible and responsive to our every need, on top of being very communicative. The rooms are luxurious, the garden and patio are quiet and calming, the kitchen and dining room areas are clean and spacious and the house in general is immaculate. All-in-all the perfect getaway spot, I cannot recommend enough. A true South African gem, we'll definitely be returning every time we visit Cape Town. The area is very safe, about a 15-minute walk/4 minute uber ride about $3 into the city. No problem at all finding Uber/Bolt drivers from the front door. Small shopping mall with full grocery store, coffee spots, pharmacy etc. around the corner. Kloof street for a nearby restaurant & nightlife scene, the Company's Garden for a gorgeous botanical garden walkthrough.
Worthwhile if you want to be on the center of town and within close proximity of the waterfront and other tourist attractions. The Manor House has an olde world feel with wooden floor boards and antique furniture. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are cosy. Michelle is very hands-on. We would have appreciated proper coffee and milk in the rooms instead of Nescafé. We also needed a mini-bar for our white wine but were able to use the refrigerator in the kitchen at least.
Had a lovely sports afternoon at Mountain Manor on Saturday when the Springboks beat the All Blacks 26-10. Awesome match, awesome venue to watch.Service: 5/5
WOW, what a beautiful, immaculate and unique guest house. We were always met by efficient and friendly staff. I was very impressed with the access control to the guest house and felt very safe. The rooms are very charming and super comfortable. I would definitely recommend Mountain Manor for your next trip. :Rooms: 5/5
It was fantastic to stay here. Visible Covid-19 compliance, hand sanitizers available through out facility. Gorgeous facility, spacious, beautiful views. Had a great welcome from Michelle. We felt special and at home. Quiet area to rest and rejuvenate. Close to all amenities. Visible security with parking space. We will be back.
