BACKGROUND & HISTORY
National Driving School was founded in 1988 in the small town of Odendaalsrus in the then Orange Free State. Named Central South Africa Driving School at first, the business started out as a one-man venture, offering the very basics of driving licence training in light motor vehicles. As was synonymous with many new small businesses in the late 80’s, survival didn’t come easy. Perseverance and a strong belief in the need for quality driving licence training nevertheless bore fruit and in 1997 took the business to another level.
Management realized the need for driving licence training in heavy motor vehicles and started basic training in Code EC (old code 14) driving licences. This new addition to the training programs on offer called for a larger premises on the one hand and a top graded driving licence testing center on the other. After a thorough investigation, the perfect location was found in the tropical paradise of Tzaneen. The business name was consequently changed to National Driving School, as clients from all over South Africa were soon accommodated for training in all aspects and codes of driving licences.
Tzaneen is situated 100km east of Polokwane, the capital of the Limpopo province. With two A-graded driving licence testing centers, Tzaneen offers perfect infrastructure to facilitate high quality driving licence training. The picturesque mountains and passes surrounding Tzaneen also provided perfect opportunity for advanced driver training. A unique advanced training program in heavy motor vehicles were introduced during 2001, offering superb skills development in safe driving and handling of heavy articulated motor vehicles.
National Driving School has seen in excess of 100000 driving licence candidates through during its existence, growing in numbers year by year. We are well known as a respected training center all over South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia and Botswana, covering the A-Z of driver training.
Instructors
All instructors are registered with the department of roads and transport as qualified driving instructors in codes A,B,C1 & EC driving licenses.
