The place wasn't at all what I made it out to be from the outsidemostly due to assumptions on my part,it was actually more chilled and relaxing,it was the only place opened around 9pm for a decent meal.  The service was excellent and with enough food choices. Food was delicious and priced perfectly. The Naan bread with their butter chicken curry was to die for.  There was a DJ who placed lovely music. Although a little loud for my taste but enjoyable, I could see why people frequent the place.  They have a huge cocktail and wine menu. I had "7 deadly sins" cocktail which I enjoyed . The other News Cafe original cocktailswith names not suitable for children were equally enjoyed by my sisters. I've definitely made a mental note of visiting during the day.

I enjoyed my chicken  butter    meal served with Basmati rice and roti   The place was chilled and the waitress services are amazing .Food: 5/5

Went there on Thursday and it was a nice vibe...The music was great and the grill for 2 was amazing and satisfying , we had it with the pap balls and butternut. The waiter kept checking on us and that was great.. I also had the long Island during happy hour so it was discounted.  Parking: Plenty of parking

I love how they keep changing their menu. This particular venue opens early so I leave car at the car wash and have an early breakfast. They've added smoothies to their menu which was a great addition.

We got here on the afternoon and it was a bit quiet, I liked the ambience and the food was really nice. As the day progressed to evening the vibe changed to more upbeat which was nice, there was a DJ who played. The waiters were very nice and the cocktails were really good.

I enjoy old places making comebacks it's our resilience that makes us African.  Just don't like the decor . But who really takes the trouble to see if the decor pops anyway.Food: 4/5

Great place, ice cold drafts, great service... I had the ribs, chicken and fries platter for nibbles, however the ribs didn't taste like pork ribs and had that previously frozen taste.. Not happy. I had a great time with friends though.

News will always be News!!!  Great music, just that loadshedding did it's thing.  They need to have LED lights in the restrooms for loadshedding days coz it gets super dark in there.

I would give a zero rating if I could. We were charged R300 for smoking hubbly even though we took our own hubbly. How can you charge customers R300 for something they did not use/order? Unacceptable and bad service.

The music is good, great place to chill with friends,  partner. Most importantly it's tidy.
