We love OB and have tried several OB franchise restaurants across many locations. We have found that OB at Mall@Reds often has the best dining experience with the best tasting food. Our last visit here was a little disappointing as our order was not well timed. The breads arrived at the same time as our starter and one of our meals was not prepared as per instructions. The waitress seemed a little distracted. The floor manager was very friendly and helpful in rectifying the issue with the kitchen.
Waited 30 minutes to be attended to. Lots of frustrated customers. Some waiting 20 minutes plus for a drink. Not enough waiters and outside seating only served when customers went to complain. Customers had to physically go and collect their own menu's. Management need to attend to these issues seriously. My wife and I got up and left without managing staff or any personnel even noticing our departure. Crawdaddy's ended up getting my business. Will not recommend this place on a month end weekend unless you are desperate and are willing to wait hours and be happy about it.
I am sorry to say but we have had a bad experience buying take away food from this restaurant. Fish batter loose and not crispy, calamari tubes oily and tough. Chips not crispy. Thinking back I now have to assume the food was ordered and prepared, not taken by someone else and was given to me when I ordered the take away. Our aim was spoiling people but what a disaster and embarrassment!! I would not support or recommend this Restaurant. Lastly I wonder why I was asked if it would be possible to go and draw cash because of a cash flow problem ???
Loved the service and warm welcome received from all staff. The food and drinks were excellent. Our waiter Tino, although a trainee provided excellent service. I will definitely visit again. Parking: Safe, and also has security.
Very disappointed. Made a reservation for me and my wife for valentines day but when we arrived they told us it is not valid and that it is a first come first serve on valentines day. Nobody called us about any of these details. So what is the point of being able to book/reserve online. Very disappointed.
Visited this OB for the first today. great service! Tino was my waiter, big thumbs up young man!!!
We had the most amazing experience, dining at OB . The food was but our waiter was top notch ashley was absolutely impeccable from sitting down to the end he was absolutely stunning . He knew the menu to the wines and even poured our wines for us . And also giving us suggestions on the type of drinks that will go well with what we ordered. He was truly the meaning of a stunning waiter loving his job.
We had supper on the 1st of October 2022 at mall @reds ocean basket. It was not busy at all, more than half the restaurant was empty. We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken and the waitress didn't take drinks order we even tried to order drinks while she was still at the table, and after about 5 mins she came back to ask us of we ordered drinks. Some of the food we ordered they got wrong and had to be sent back. Once we done with our main course after trying to signal about 5 waiters we waited about 15 mins before they brought a dessert menu. On top of all that 5 different people attended to our table, our waiter/waitress didn't give us a name ot introduce themself. I really will never go back to that ocean basket again. And I've been to the mall of Africa ob a few times and the service and food were much better even though they were busier every time
I must be honest. I usually experience low quality food at high prices here. Bought my wife a platter for one today which is now R210 as takeaway and the praws are off and squids heads taste like a ball of oil. Its unfortunately the last time I am supporting Ocean Basket Mall @ Reds
Excellent service by Metty! The crunch sushi platter was devine. Bite of the ocean delicious, however the new hake potion in this plate is not pleasant-bitter aftertaste! Please take it off your menu.
