We endeavor to ensure that the duty of care offered to the special needs children at this centre is of the highest standard at all times.
The founder of this centre is very much aware of the stigma attached to the multiple special needs people. She understands the physical, social and emotional needs of special children and their families. She plans to use this centre to bridge the gap that she has identified between the children, their families, community and the trained professional medical practitioners. Special needs schools in the townships seem to lack resources, expertise and qualified personnel to cater to the different needs of each child, due to lack of funds so as to improve their facilities. The children are not considered as “disabled” but just as “differently abled”.
Our Mission is to:
a) To build a firm trust with parents, enabling them to feel fully confident in leaving their child with us, knowing that the care we offer will provide the child enjoyment in a safe relaxed environment where their individual developmental needs will be met.
b) To offer age-stage appropriate programs to the children with activities provided that will foster independence, and develop children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills. The programs will provide the basic building blocks to enhance pre writing, pre number and pre language skills.
c) To offer programs that will develop a child's enquiring mind, develop their creativity, language, imagination, confidence, fine and gross motor skills, sharing skills, and conflict resolution skills.
d) To provide an environment where children will accept others and be assisted to share, meet challenges, and strive to achieve - while accepting limitations, interacting and playing with children, and developing their self image and self esteem.
e) To provide an awareness of the community through outings and excursions so as to broaden children’s experiences and language skills.
f) To have program flexible themes and concepts, which are developed on what interests the children, and then introduced according to their developmental and age-stage individual abilities.
g) To encourage parents to have input at committee level, daily group participation and program development, or attending workshops and seminars.
h) To ensure Care professionals will are qualified, or are undertaking study to gain relevant necessary qualifications.
The Centre is open from 8:00 am — 5:00 pm to cater for the needs of parents.
