So glad I finally made the call to see Dr Gantsho. Two days after visiting her for my baby's eczema the result was already visible. My baby hardly scratches himself anymore mind you he used to bleed. His skin is smooth and even tone. She's also extremely thorough in explaining things to you. Even called in my mom who looks after my baby to better educate her. Money's worth but above all super grateful. P.S. Can't wait for my brother's review who I recommended he goes see Dr Gantsho.
I used to get endless compliments on my clear and smooth skin. When I started at my new job, things went south as it was pre-requisite to shave every morning! I started growing razor bumps consistently ever since. The compliments started coming back as a result of one encounter with Dr Gantsho. I have not fully recovered from the dark spots yet but the progress is visible. Dr Gantsho is medically gifted and embodies a sense of altruism. Thank you so much for being such a phenomenal doctor! I can't wait to see you again.
What a lovely, thorough and fabulous dermatologist. I went to Dr Gantsho a number of months ago for a general check up and she really took her time and was very knowledgeable. I recently emailed her to ask her opinion on something skincare related and she truly gave of her time, effort and expertise to respond in the most professional way possible. Dr Nomphelo was very welcoming, took her time to explain and educate us about eczema. All I can say I had great experience and my baby's eczema improved a lot within 3 days .His skin is very soft now and I couldn't believe. I would highly recommend her.
I am very sad to say that despite all the positive reviews, I have had a very negative experience with Dr. Gantsho. I had 3 instances of very serious and sensitive issues that I brought to Dr. Gantsho's attention which she failed to handle properly. I went to Dr. Gantsho to resolve my acne after having been on isotretinoin on two previous occasions. My acne wasn't that severe before having started isotretinoin however each course of isotretinoin only eased my acne in the short term but caused a much worse breakout after my treatment ended. Isotretinoin had made my skin much worse and hadn't even come close to resolving the issue. I brought this to Dr. Gantsho attention repeatedly, however, she still advised advised that a third treatment would do the trick. I was reluctant but Dr. Gantsho dismissed my concerns and assured me it would work this time. Lo and behold 11 Months and over R10 000 in check ups, medication and skin products later my skin is worse than ever. This is despite a rigorous skin care routine and having followed all the Doctor's instructions to a T. The side effects were also awful. Another instance of poor judgement was a particularly bad cyst which I asked the doctor to treat. She injected it with a liquid and a few weeks later I was forced to go to my General Practitioner as the pain from the cyst had become unbearable. My GP advised me that the cyst had become infected and she was forced to drain it. This was incredibly painful and left a sizeable lifelong scar. The third instance of Dr. Gantsho's poor judgement was when I brought up concerns that my hairline was beginning to recede. My concerns were pressing as it is important to start medication as soon as possible to preserve my hairline. Dr. Gantsho again dismissed my concerns and told me that the side effects of Finasteride were to severe even though she prescribed isotretinoin which has far worse side effects. I have since been to a hair specialist who advised me that my hair is and has been receding for a while. The specialist ironically advised me that all the isotretinoin could be the reason for my hair loss. Dr. Gantsho failed to pick up on my hair loss or advise me that isotretinoin has adverse effects on hair preservation. Before writing this I brought some of these issues to her attention via email. her only rebuttal was that I try isotretinoin again. This was infuriating. Dr. Gantsho is very friendly and eager to make small talk but is dismissive and failed to take my concerns to heart. He services have cost me thousands of rands and left me in a much worse position than if I had never seen her in the first place. I highly recommend that anyone reading this seek help elsewhere and question any prescriptions of Isotretinoin.
Dr G deserves a Gold Medal YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!..I went to her practice 2 days ago.My 2 year old has severe Eczema.She explained everything i need to know about this Chronic condition and prescribed a 6 month treatment. She was kind ,and her voice alone is as calming as ever ...The nurse that helped with the wrapping of the skin ,was so gentle and had so much patience, when dealing with my baby .The receptionist wasn't as friendly...but Dr G made up for that
No words can describe my gratitude for Dr Gantsho. Not only is she an amazing doctor, but an amazing person. I had really bad acne that destroyed my self-confidence. Going to seek treatment with Dr Gantsho was by far the best decision. She ensured that I was aware of the treatment and was more than willing to assist with the tons of questions I had. Dr Gantsho, thank you for restoring my glowing skin, but more importantly my self-confidence.
Dr Nomphelo is great. She offers great service and understands the needs of my skin. She understands what black skin needs and I’ve seen great improvement on my skin. She also takes time to understand her patients and is very conversational- which I enjoy as someone who is in a marketing field. I enjoy great service. I would highly recommend.
I went for my first consultation with doctor Gantsho on the 30th of August 2021 and it was my first time consulting a dermatologist after planning to do so for some time. When I saw all the reviews on the website I got very excited and couldn't wait for my appointment. I will admit that she's very sweet and kind, she holds conversations and makes you feel at ease, however my excitement died down before the sun set that day. She did not even diagnose me of anything, didn't even touch me, nothing! She just kept talking and I felt like as some point she wouldn't allow me to finish my sentences because she dismissed me a couple of times. Regardless of me telling her that I'm a trainee at work and my finances aren't so greatbecause she asked, she went on to give me a prescription which I found to be very expensive, this is after I spent R1600 at her surgery. On top of the meds on the prescription, there were 4 products from Eucerin which I was supposed to buy. With no warning whatsoever, the total of all these were heavily expensive on me. But what made things worse was that after starting the treatment I had to keep going to her for the next 6 month, paying follow up consultation fees and probably more expensive products. Nonetheless I only use her creams that she gave me, the face wash I had to buy and the contraceptive prescribed. That cream is just causing more pimples and they are not as mild as she said they would be. I did a Pathcare which I never got feedback for as she had promised. I'm so sad that I'm the one writing this negative comment, but I feel like she completely disregarded my financial situation and just wanted me to buy expensive products. I'm definitely getting second opinion from another doctor since my face looks worse than before I consulted her. And i definitely won't be going for any follow ups with her
Dr. Gantsho is, in a word, exceptional! I happened to be in Cape Town for work from the U.S and had to see a dermatologist, and I am so fortunate I came across her practice. Given her combined experience as a practitioner and researcher, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. And she's incredibly kind and personable. But to the point: she helped me immediately resolve issues I was having on my face, chest, and back. Thank you so much Dr. Gantsho, my skin is now healthy and looks great!
