We have however discovered certain obstacles:
Since most food markets only run on Saturdays or Sundays (weather permitting), this means:
Vendors only have 1 or 2 days to interact with the public.
The public only has 1 or 2 days to purchase specialised products from local vendors.
As food market consumers would ask, “What about the remaining five days of the week? Where can we get that special vinaigrette, or the chilli relish that is worth the drive from Benoni to Fourways?” Such consumers are then forced to admit defeat and go to a local supermarket and buy a mass produced, franchised product that never amazes.
