This restaurant is situated in a very beautiful Masjid we came in for a Coffee and tiny bite. Everything seemed to take forever maybe Load-shedding yet the food was delicious the coffee was not as strong as I remember it to be. Our waiter was his first day as he said. Otherwise okay experience.
Such a beautiful place and peaceful.it was wonderful to see the beauty of the architecture and skill that went into building this place.the little gallery was also amazing to read and learn of the history of the palace and religion. It was really a peaceful to walk into the mosque and be filled with the wonder and beauty of the establishment.it is a worthwhile drive to go and learn.
The food was deliciously prepared with adequate service with food prepared in a satisfactory time. We shared a mixed grill for 2, which was more than enough and very delicious. The restaurant has Turkish tiles and finishes, but is maintained poorly.
We always going their as a family. The food and service is absolutely amazing. The food is wow. The place does need a bit of a revamp or upgrade in terms of the decor.
This was our second time at Ottoman Palace Turkish Restaurant. The food was just as we remembered, delicious! It's awesome to be able to eat authentic Turkish style food right here in Johannesburg. The benches and chairs need some deep cleaning and a bit of background music would enhance the ambiance of the restaurant. But overall a very pleasant experience.
Good place. Good to take the bridge dish for four.
Horrible service received, food was beyond horrible. Waited more than 40 minutes for standard meals, food was received cold. Management is horrible. Waiters is untrained. Food is of the worse quality. I fasted a whole day and received disappointing food and service. Beyond disappointed. Would not suggest them to anyone at all. Don’t support this establishment as they dont care about etiquette nor do they care about proper customer service.
We visited this place during Ramadaan. It is situated in the Turkish mosque complex. The vibe was lovely as many people break their fast here with their families, pray and then have a meal. There are one or two restaurants, a barber, a mini supermarket and lots of authentic turkish desserts and sweet treats. The food was lovely. We had the Pide, chicken cubes and turkish tea and coffee.
Platter was served quickly, unfortunately some of the meat was cold. Spoilt the taste as some of my guests complained about cold chops which was sad. Also service very poor when it was a bit busy.
Terrible experience, flies attacking us from all directions. The waitress brought some incense that worked for a short while only, then had to refill. Food was good though, when we were not swatting flies that is. And there is the issue of a mandatory 10% tip on your bill. I should be able to choose how much I want to tip based on my experience.
