Panhandle Place

I had a restful, quiet and very comfortable stay at the Panhandle Place and Guest House; the rooms are very well appointed, every room has a little patio in front of it to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine; the garden and sitting area in the garden are beautiful, and the owner, Alta, is such a warm and wonderful host and cook, taking great care of her guests. The breakfasts were varied and absolutely delicious every time, and I enjoyed all our conversations too. I can highly recommend staying here.

What a lovely place to stay. The garden is stunning and full of roses at this time of year. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Alta is friendly, helpful and professional. Access is easy and there are no dogs or cats to complicate things. I always stay here when I come to jhb.Rooms: 5/5

My husband and I were leaving S. Africa after living there for the past 14 years. We needed a temporary base from which to function and tie up all the loose ends. Alta made us very welcome in homely surroundings. We were able to relax in the rooms we were given as well as to use the summerhouse surrounded by beautiful plants many of which were in full bloom.

I was booked at Panhandle Place for a week and ended up staying 7 months! Superb location, clean, friendly... a true home. Magnificent rose garden overlooking the suburb. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful environment in Johannesburg

We have been staying at Panhandle at least twice a year for more than 12 years. Our family in Johburg do not have space for my husband and Iso Panhamdle is ideal for us as it is close to them and easy to get to other places in Johburg. We have stayed in all the availabe accomadation. .The cottages are secure, comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean.. The garden is always most beautiful what ever season. Above all Alta is a charming Host. tthank you

Oh wow! Panhandle stay was the best exceeded my expectation in every way from the moment we stepped in warmth and friendliness was felt and immediately we felt at home. The Cabin was neat quiet and everything we needed for our busy weekend in Johannesburg we returned to a full relaxation and restoration after each and every trip out. The hardest part was saying goodbye to such a lovely environment home away from home. Thank you Alta for your lovely conversations and surely we will be coming back to Panhandle when we are in Johannesburg again. Undoubtedly Panhandle Place is the best place to be. Hi everybody Just to mention. I have stayed at Panhandle Garden suite for two months. What a lovely place especially in the spring time when all flowers, trees bloom. This quiet, clean self catering place in Linden, close to Cresta, Victory Park shopping centres and Randburg offices was all I needed. The owner Alta very pleasant lady. Recommended. M. Pekar

The room was comfortable and had two wall heaters which greatly assisted during the cold spell. A large table provided me with amble room to work. Thank you Alta for an enjoyable stay.

Aletta is an amazing hostess, the gardens are beautiful and the accommodation is lovely - I highly recommend it
