A Pilates body is; long, lean & strong; hidden strength underlies healthy muscle tone; release of tension in the central nervous system and improves breathing, balance and alignment.
Everyone can benefit from Pilates. I am a fully certified classical Pilates Instructor for Private or Group Classes using Pilates Equipment and Mat work. I have gained experience from various Pilates styles, teaching techniques and environments.
I decided to begin teaching in 2006 with the aim to enrich and improve the quality of life for those suffering pain or needing specialized training to achieve specific results.
As people gain the knowledge of the Pilates method and begin to understand the principles required to execute the method correctly, they can translate it for use in other systems and enhance the work of other disciplines or simply improve pain, posture, body mobility and tone; plus all the other benefits that come with attending Pilates regularly.
Joseph Pilates - never set an official training program with the result of many versions & different interpretations evolving and only in the more recent few years, the medical profession has started acknowledging the great success of the system.
It’s not the actual repertoire, but the way you approach the exercises-“It is less about what you do and more about how you do it!”
This has been wonderful for instructors as they are able to absorb new ideas, for example include physiotherapy techniques or yoga or proprioception, or movement therapies & incorporate them into the method without loosing the Pilates method uniqueness.
Pilates continues to develop as a system, moving forward rapidly without the constraint of rigid rules. This progressive approach has won the respect & support of leading medical bodies as well as top sports associations.
Sally is passionate about instructing the Pilates method, loves sharing her knowledge, working with her clients, and/ or their
doctor or health professional, on their desired goals and seeing the benefits and results of this unique training method.
Certification: Comprehensive Pilates Mat & Equipment Certificate, Yoga Teacher Training, Basic Exercise Science (Anatomy & Physiology) and on-going fitness workshops.
