The place is beautiful, great for the whole family - kids will enjoy ample garden spaces and water features. Gr8 for just the two of you as well - picnic area. The food does not suit the place eish_ bummer. Please be innovative and creative. Fresh food please.

Great place... the only negative is that staff can't communicate with guests. A bit rude. The highlight was the boat driver, Donald. He gave us superb service and a 5 star treatment

Extremely terrible. They don't answer their phones or emails. When we got there we called the number Infront of them, and the phone was muted for 2 days. All the customers were returning their food plates back, glasses were dirty. Pork belly was boiled, had froth like bits still on the piece, meat tasted like it was off or like wild meat. The apple chips stated on the menu, was literally one chip, one slice as a garnish, versus a side. Terrible experience all round. Not the same as it used to be. They were one of the best, can't say the same anymore.

Good location, service and food at the restaurant was excellent! Communication on locations on site would be my only negative point as we needed to ask for relevant information rather than been told when we arrived. Food & drinks: Food is really very good just very expensive

The venue has stunning views and the service was impressive; initially we made a booking for the main restaurant but upon arrival were seated outside the extended area and it was rather cold however, upon speaking with our waiter; Hillary, he arranged a table inside which was more comfortable and warm. The food was beautifully plated. However, the taste was rather disappointing. The beef short rib and the ribeye steak were very dry, which made it challenging to cut through and chew even though the steak was medium. The salmon was brought to the table after everyone else was already served and had eaten and the sauce it was served with wasn't tasty at all.

Attended an event on 01/01/2023 The event itself was fantastic; vibes, set up and music was awesome . Their service food is absolutely horrendous waited for over an hour to get my food. Decided to go into the kitchen because I watched people who ordered after me receive their food before me. When I eventually received the food it was literally just slapped together and dry it definitely wasn't worth the wait -0 for food and service . There was an option to bring your own food and I think this is best to avoid disappointments.

There's something wrong with the people responsible for managing this place, The Manager was seating infront of her laptop, pretending to be busy, whilst their poor staff was running around like head less chickens. What a horrible Easter Sunday!!!!From the entrance to the restaurant, it was a mess, we had no place to seat since Pontdeval only had 10 tables yet they allowed +-150 people to book for their easter Sunday, we had to wait for an hour before we could dish up our own food as there was not enough food, no starter was served, no dessert served, no Easter Sunday egg hunt that my son was looking forward to. We thought we would be allocated a table as per their FALSE advertising, You are taking advantage of your customers and you will loose them. SIES and I feel like this was deliberate. WHAT A HORRIBLE PLACE

What a horror movie of an experience! We were a large group of family and friends who had travelled from quite far to attend the 7 Colours Easter event yesterday! They presold tickets for lunch! On arrival there was chaos! Queues that went for hours! Patrons complaining about being served RAW pork and chicken and potatoes! Staff not able to explain or give any directive as to what is going on. Children disappointed as no Easter egg hunt! We waited and queued for 6 hours for food that NEVER arrived. We had to beg and plead with waiters to at least give us drinks. What’s worse is that when the event couldn’t provide the food we pre-bought, the main restaurant invited us over to rectify this. Even a worse experience there too, we were greeted by very angry patrons leaving. We waited for about 3 more hours before we finally gave up and left driving all the way to johannesburg after not having eaten ALL day! Our children were mortified! Please do not ever book at this place. From the reviews it seems the food catering is a CONSISTENT problem and all the venue managers do is reply and say they’ll do better but they do not! Absolutely disgusted by this experience!

The spa: It's stated that they offer welcome drinks on arrival. Nothing was offered to us. The therapists didn't introduce themselves. They all seemed unhappy. The massage was the poorest - asked for firm pressure, got nothing but mild rubbing on the skin. My therapist in particular, butned me several times with the hotstones , each time I had to literally move to show her that I was getting burned. The treatment was not worth travelling from Pretoria, nor was it worth the R3500+ fee. You wanna save yourself, look for better spa's. Dietary restrictions: We requested Vegan dishes before booking for the couples half day spa with lunch. It was clearly stated during the booking that the Vegan dishes were the determining factors to us booking. Instead we got Extremely poor service. Even though Thoko & Palesa confirmed to me that there will be vegan dishes, we got to the restaurant, no one seems to know about our dietary requests. We spent over 1hour before the so-called starter was served. Waiters & Waitresses need to be advised on making sure they were clean clothes. Even the "manager" who came to hear our story had dirty jeans on. For me 1 star is even overrated. You deserve nothing more than minus ratings, if there could be such.
