I recently hired a Hyundai i10 from this company which broke down on a long trip, and started smoking. I called in to alert them and was pretty much blamed for the leak because I drove it to a garage with the warning light on and was told "to find my own way home" almost 400 km away from my home. In the company's own words "At face value, it appears that the radiator failure was not due to anything you had done." Which clearly indicates the mechanics say it wasn't my fault. I'm still being threatened with an invoice after being stranded in Bloemfontein and paying for a vehicle that broke down and when I ask for a deposit back I'm not getting any clear answers. This provider didn't care enough to send a replacement and hasn't apologised for its faulty vehicle. I'm sure they will respond with their own idea of what happened, but as soon as I saw the light I took it to a garage maybe a km from when I saw it I thought it was 5 but a family member corrected me when he saw the road. I was a woman driving alone in SA on my way back to JHB. They offered me no support, and continue to hold my deposit and the extra money I paid for the days I didn't/couldn't use the car. This is my first car rental company, is this how it's supposed to work?
Phone in an hour before I deliver the car could not find my contract. The battery of the car had to be jump start twice the same day. All I got3 we are3 sorry. Will never use them again. I fill the car about a kilometer away they need to check the fuel again after I showed them the fuel slip
Really great experience. Fees and deposit refunded on the same day with no hidden deductions. Nice to deal with a business really looking out for it's customers.
I have twice rented a car from ResQ Rent A Car using their long-term rental plan and both times I was 100% pleased. Flip, Schalk, and the rest of the staff were always kind, helpful, and prompt when I contacted them with questions about the cars available for lease, the contract details, or service. The prices were reasonable and the long-term contract was especially useful for me, a foreigner in South Africa for an extended stay twice, for a period of one year who needed a car but was nervous about having to buy and sell a car independently at the beginning and end of my time there. I know of no other companies that offer such a service in South Africa. Most importantly, perhaps, the two cars that I rented from ResQ were in impeccable shape and gave me no problems, despite the fact that I drove them very often during my time in SA. I recommend ResQ without the slightest hesitation!
We have used the services of Res-Q Rent a car for the past 10 years, every time we visit South Africa. They have always supplied us with reliable cars for the duration of each of our visits. The management staff are always very helpful and friendly. I can happily recommend them to anyone who needs "wheels". In addition their charges are more favourable than any of the other larger car hire firms
Excellent service! Very accommodating. We were provided a car which had mechanical problems. I phoned these guys, and they arranged another vehicle to be delivered to me in Pretoria. They really went out of their way to assist us!
Bunch of crooks!!! Charged me a Credit card surcharge of 5% for fuel but the receipt shows that no credit card was used, cash was tendered. Just another scam to fleece extra money out of unsuspecting customers. Will never see me again.
