Welcome to Riptide Fishing Charters

Riptide Fishing Charters is a well established fishing charter business and we operate from Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast of South Africa, just and hour's drive from Durban.

We pride ourselves in offering a professional service and our skippers are experienced fisherman with many hours logged out at sea.

We can cater for all skill levels, from novice anglers to fly fisherman. Children and women are welcome and we even have an on-board toilet especially for the ladies.

An added bonus to many of our fishing trips is the excitement of witnessing dolphins, sea birds, turtles and even whales. If you are lucky enough you could even experience the excitement of the annual sardine run, which is an experience all of it's own.

All bait and equipment is supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own rods, reels etc.

Besides the fishing, we also do pleasure trips up and down the coast

Disorganized operation . Basic maintenance not done , flat battery, starter that need to be hit with hammer to start. Not enough bait on board , had to quickly go and buy. Luckily the trip was eventually cancelled after wasting time for 2 hours to get things sorted out. Never again. Booked with Awesome Charters , much more professional.

TERRIBLE !!! I wish i read some of the reviews here before paying. Nothing Like they advertise. The boat was in a state and physically falling apart , No ice to put caught fish on and the skipper was seasick most of the day leaving everyone quite disappointed. They promise a DVD where they document your day for you and yes well we are still waiting for the supposed DVD that was sent through the Post Office  They will probably tell me in another 2 weeks it was lost there  .I bought this for my BF as a gift where he could take people ,We made a weekend of this with some friends and well i was embarrassed to say the least.

The skipper was amazing but let down by the equipment. The boat has reached its sell by date. 4 hours was all the boat could handle before starting to take on water and most of the trip done on only one motor. Do your homework and look at the boats before deciding on your next trip

What an awesome experience fishing with Riptide. They know the right spots to take you and look after and out for you all the time!!! Thanks Deon and skipper for a great day's catch. Thanks Stefnie for all you hard admin work. We will see you again!!!

An awesome day out with our sons on the Riptide Too with Captian Cyle. He made sure that our first time youngsters were treated to some awesome fishing and coming away with some nice catches.  We highly recommend Riptide charters. Thank you guys. See you again soon.

Worst fishing experience ever!!! I've been out with a couple of times with other charters.... Boat and fishing gear must be replaced, don't think the boat is see worthy or built for bottom fishing. THEY WILL NOT SEE US AGAIN. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND.......They are quick to take your money but not as quick to deliver on their empty promises.

In April 2018 I paid a deposit of R3750 to Riptide on the understanding that the deposit is paid back in full should there be bad weather. We had bad weather and till now September I have STILL not been refunded!!!!

Very disappointed!!!!! My son's first experience and he were out for less than 4 hours. Still begging for his  photo. Not nice, paid full price!!!!!!!
