The River of Life Christian Ministries has a local and global vision. The ROLCM will develop just like a river that is born as a trickling stream and eventually becomes a mighty river into the nations of the world.
The River of Life Christian Ministries is a pioneering Church aiming to make inroads into the unchurched population of our city. It aims to “church” the “unchurched” community (which is the largest “congregation” in the city), hence becoming the largest “church” in the city.
The River of Life Christian Ministries seeks to create an ADULLAM, a place of refuge for those who are destitute, discontented and disillusioned with life and religion. Every attempt must be made to create an environment that is conducive for restoration, renewal and revival.
History
This ministry was birthed on the 2nd October 1994. During that year, Apostle Thamo Naidoo, then a pastor of a congregation in Greytown, heeded the call of God to plant a Church in Pietermaritzburg that would be “a breath of fresh air to traditional Christianity”.
The ministry started with a congregation of less than 30 people and today, 19 years later, the ministry has grown into what can be described as a mighty river. This description is regarded as extremely apt when one considers the passage of scripture which was divinely communicated to Apostle Thamo, and upon which the name and vision is based….
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the Holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High God. Psalms 46 vs. 4…
Reach (the unchurched)
Reach the local, national and global community with the gospel of the Kingdom of Christ and His Lordship.
Invite and provide a shelter (cave of Adullam) for the physically and spiritually discontented, disillusioned, distressed and impoverished to receive the love of God.
Create an environment (Hebron) that encourages ecumenical and covenantal relations in the Body of Christ.
Resource (the churched)
Function as an Apostolic Resource centre (service provider) for ministries connected to or enquiring about the apostolic season.
Establish a storehouse of grain (present truth teachings/resources) whereby ministries in the global community may receive present truth instruction.
Mobilize every believer to function in their gracing within the complex Body of Christ.
Build up the believer into the fullness of the image of Christ (teleios `man') in preparation for the physical return of Jesus Christ as King and Lord over His Church.
Reform (the nations)
Posture the Body of Christ to function as an exact representative (shaliah) of Christ in administrating the affairs of His Kingdom in the visible and invisible kingdoms of divine creation.
Promote the reformation of inaccurate and unbiblical ecclesial structures and doctrines.
Propagate the reconstitution (restoration) of all things according to the biblical design with the ecclesiastical and secular systems of corporate society.
