I had the most horrific experience at Airlink this week . There appears to be a scam operating from their premises .Firstly my dogs flying from Namibia were not on the 9.15 plane with me due to Airlink’s error so only flew at 1.35 . Now the apparent scam . I went to Airlink Cargo to collect my 2 dogs and 2 people ahead of me appeared to be blocking me getting served by fussing about their paperwork . A man approached me in the queue dressed like Airlink staff and asked how he could be of assistance . I advised I needed the dogs cleared .He examined my documentation 30 cm from the rest of the Airlink Staff at the counter and advised I must now pay in another office . I accompanied him and a woman ran my card for R6000 when I had expected under R2000 . I started querying it . I then returned to Airlink offices with both these people and was told by Airlink to pay again . Airlink then denied they knew these people . It appears Airlink are allowing these people to scam their clients who enter through hectic security and who come and go in their offices as they please taking advantage of pet owners who are not familiar with the procedures . The dogs were released to me at 6pm which was most upsetting as I had spent 7 hours at the airport and the dogs had not eaten since the night before . Almost 24 hours . An investigation should be instituted .
Poor communication. Asked multiple time if we need anything else before dropping off items at the warehouse before a flight. Only to arrive at the gate and not be allowed access because an email must be sent to the security gate for access. Which was not done by Airlink. Now we are stranded and trying to phone customer care but there is no answer. Why was this not cummunicated to us. And why, if you know this is the security process is it not done. Terrible service.
Excellent way of getting a urgent parcel from Cape Town to Pretoria in no time, but a lot of incompetant Caders controlling the acess gates from ACSA we wasted a whole hour just collect a small parcel. Security guards are useless at the gates. The exit gate to pay with your card is not working. Perhaps Airlink Cargo shouls take it up with ACSA to improve the access control and parking control systems.
Absolutely terrible service. Security is rude and all the contact numbers on the website don’t work. On top of that you must pay R18 per hour to park to collect your parcel. Flight took off at 19:15 from king Shaka and the parcel was still not ready to be collected at 21:30.
Waiting an hour and a half for live cargo to get from the plane to the terminal is a bit much. I feel that the traumatic experience of an animal travelling by air should limited by cutting back on the transit times.
Shame, those guys waited until i collected my shipment, before they went home. Thanks guys, 5*
Got a November Issue of SKYWAY on my return flight from the attendant .Along with a bottle of water and chicken sandwich ,which i gave to Anele brother and his friend Thabang on collecting me from the airport exit .
Good service is the quality to connect to other flights
Helpful service, the domestic section is significantly smaller than the international which could cause a delay when busy
Very well organized system for airfreighting of goods. Prices are very reasonable too. The only reason for 4 stars is that they take a while to answer the phone.
