It started hailing golf balls while I was there. I'm not saying they caused the hail but can we really prove that they didn't? It's the perfect excuse to keep customers in store. It can't just be a coincidence right? If I'm right this is serious. Manipulating the weather is a violation of the Geneva Convention. This is major, I have a feeling it goes all the way to the top and the the bread industry is behind this. Anyway the rolls were really good and the bakery smelled nice.
Proper Chef style things. Salehs cakes or no cake in my house. Try the garlic bread and the assorted cakes and Biscuits.
The coconut cooksisters and donuts were delicious. Bakery is very neat and very well managed.
Tried Salehs after many moons on Sundaysince Church street, Mayfair. We enjoyed the Butterscotch Madeira, koeksisters, Naan and Custard doughnuts. Also purchased mini milk tarts but didn't enjoy them too much. Overall experience was great, will definitely come back
Fresh and delicious cakes. Good variety as well
Worst reception and service. Their website states they make macaroons but on arrival an unfriendly and unwelcoming man wouldn't even let me in the store and td me that they don't make macaroons. And shop was not open at 09:30 despite their listed trading hours. I was not looking for macaroons at 09:30 I wanted to order macaroons for a function and that's what I had hoped to discuss and if the man working in the store had actually asked "how" they can assist instead of dismissing me me off-hand; they would have known that I wanted to place an order
From cape town,,, my 1st time in this bakery and it was great if my wife wasn't with I'm sure I would have bought way goods.... Keep it up
The staff were so helpful and friendly. The custard doughnuts were highly recommended and very tasty. My kids loved the rainbow cake.
I've spent the last 2 days trying to get a response from this bakery. Find them to be very slack with correspondence. Tried communicating via email, messenger & calls with no joy. If this is how potential customers are treated then I rather take my business elsewhere!!! IN RESPONSE TO REPLY How is it possible for potential customers to check when no calls are taken & I've called the shop from various numbers. With no response even left voice message. Please revise ad & tell customers to rather check in store. And no I'm not unreasonable & expect to be pushed to the front of the queue. Maybe get an auto reply message that can be sent to your customer if you're too busy. A suggestion that will help in future reviews.
I am not sure how anyone can rate this store less than 4 or 5. I am surprised by comments I have read about the owner. Even if I do not have anything to buy I will still visit Saleh's every single week just because of the owner and his staff. We love his wit. And I have yet to experience below excellent service and quality. Saleh's rocks OK!
