Santon(Mandela Square)

It’s my first time visiting the Nelson Mandela square in Sandton. However, I was nicely surprised to see what the square has to offer. The Nelson Mandela square is situated in the heart of Sandton and part of Sandton Mall with very popular brands. The square is paying homage to one of the world’s greatest men, our symbol of freedom and African pride, Nelson Mandela Square that is home to an iconic statue of Nelson Mandela. The big statue of Nelson Mandela testifies to whom the square is name after and the history he left behind. This makes for a popular attraction, and together with the African sunshine, Nelson Mandela Square has become a prime lifestyle and fine dining destination for locals and tourists alike with restaurants inside and outside the mall. Some restaurants offers live music in the evenings that both locals and international tourist can enjoys. QR codes on the floor can be scanned to learn more of the big icon of the struggle. Tourist can also enjoy the beautiful art work as part of the rich history of South Africa. It’s a must to visit when going to Sandton

Nice mall, completed with high end and mid-range shopping. Several restaurants and other stores available here. There's also fun stuff for kids too.

I has a good experience visiting the place and Mall. It was clean, well secured with police around the establishment. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. There was some men idling at the side but I still get secure because of the security guards nearby. There’s a lot of stores and great restaurants within the square.

Except to the statues of Mr Nelson Mandela one being huge and the other one significantly smaller, but with braille writing, there is a whole section dedicated to Nelson Mandela with extracts from some of his speeches you can read it or lisen to it, various quotes and a brief run-through of his life. It also contains some restaurants, shops, a theater, various pieces of artwork and a water feature.

Modern architecture, one of the best shopping malls on Johannesburg my opinion the best, here you can buy everything you need. Shops, Cafes, Restaurants , Supermarkets, Cig and comfortable parking with plenty of spaces. Walking distance from all nearby hotels and, what is important, an absolute sense of security.

Such a huge mall which accommodates all walks of life. They offer a memorable shopping experience and entertainment

Love coming to this square and eating at the many restaurants that surround the accurate statue of Nelson Mandela. If you've seen some statues, you'll know what I mean Close by the statue there are cool placards that detail Nelson Mandela's life. And always good to get a picture with him too The Square is always buzzing and there are usually some events happening there

Good place with big statue of the president Nilson Mandila , and have mall with prand shops and restaurant

A great tourist attraction site. Shopping extravaganza at Sandton City. A great variety of sit down and eat places at the Nealon Mandela Square amongst others Tang, Pappas, Trump, The Raj, Trumps, Big Mouth, Cilantro, Tashas but to name a few. Fine dining at its best. Occasionally events such as live music and entertainment takes places at the square. A night the water feature may be activated. Kids love playing in short bursts of water. Tourist and locals love taking photographs with the statute of the late President of South Africa, President Nelson Mandela.

The square outside with all the restaurants overlooking it is great and vibey, and it was fabulous to see the fantastic sculptures. Well kept and clean, nice experience for us Durbanites.
