Very disappointed in the police officials in Port Alfred. Despite it being illegal to be drinking in public areas no attempt was made to bring the street party to order which was held in Beach Road Port Alfred on 31st Dec. & 1st January 2022. The party was on going for more than 24 hours. The road was so conjested that the residents in the area were unable to exit or enter their homes. Should there have been an emergency no emergency vehicles of any kind would have been able to enter the area. I sincerely hope that for everyone's safety something william be done in future to curtail the situation.
Reported break in at house and SAPS responded quickly, within 30 minutes. Detectives arrived 2 hours later to look for finger prints. Given it was only a stolen bicycle, I was amazed at amount of attention paid to matter.
I want to comment the excellent service I received from W/Os Van Rensburg, van Der Merwe and Constables Holster, Tyokwana and Steven. I had my phone and watch stolen and these officers responded quickly, tracked the phone and recovered it and my watch AND apprehended the perpetrator in less than an hour! They were courteous, involved and on the ball throughout. Really impressed gentlemen!
I would like to commend Warrant Officer LS Funde for the fantastic service i got when reporting my vehicle accident on Saturday 14th of January. Well done it was an absolute pleasure to deal with Port Alfred SAPS.
