This was definitely an experience We booked the one hour sea cruise however the wind was quite bad so the waves was really high and could not go into sea we did the harbour round and back would definitely go back for the sea cruise
With a sad heart I am leaving this review. For years now we have used Sarie Marais for our harbour cruises every time we visit Durban. Unfortunately it has become like a shebeen party with horrible loud music, cooler boxes being carried onboard with people drinking all the time. The boat, staff and cruise is still pleasant, but it seems they cater for a different market now and gone is the pleasure of enjoying the scenery with no music or even decent background music which is ok.
One hour boat trip was interesting, especially when the waves became rougher deeper into the sea. The Skipper knows his trade and brought us back safely.
Made a pre booking online and they could not even call back to say they don't have enough people for a cruise. What a way to ruin date day very bad and the lady at the counter was not very helpful in finding out when the boat will go out. Clearly a tour company that does not need customers
Fun short trip from the harbour along the coast, I think we made a turn around Suncoast, definitely passed South beach/uShaka. Music on the boat adds to the vibe. Interesting things to see on the trip, docked vessels and some scenery I think there's room for a tad bit more to make the trip interesting. Like a short tut on life jackets, or what to expect out at sea, in terms of waves, interesting things to look out for. We experienced a bit of rocking and I think we could have been slightly better prepared

What a wonderful boat trip out to the open waters. Looking back at durban from the ocean was epic. A bit choppy but that made it even more exciting.
Really unpleasant experience there was very loud music being played on the boat the whole time and also people using alcohol. We could not communicate with each other because of all the noise and felt uncomfortable as a family being around the people who were drinking and screaming the whole time. Would not recommend to anybody with children or someone looking to enjoy it with their family.
