Our stay at the lodge was excellent. Jenny, the lodge manager, was extremely helpful and accommodating. With load shedding, Jenny would ensure breakfast was hot and on par. She was hands-on in ensuring the rented vehicle was parked safely. Would certainly recommend the lodge as it is centrally located for our tours.Rooms: 5/5
really nice place with very welcoming staff and u really feel like ur at home i had gone to south africa for a badminton tournament and thats where i stayed it is really nice tho not all rooms have a included bathroom and they only have breakfast other meals u are supposed to buy from outside.. and yea there quite a few restaurants nearby Rooms: as i said it would be cool if there were attached bathrooms to all rooms
Service was horrible, with impatient Jane, serving different breakfasts portions e.g we were given 1 piece of chicken breast, and denied salad dressing while another group was served differently with 2 bottles of dressings. Always shouting at guests when requesting something. Also forgot our jackets in their room, when contacting them, within 3hours, we were told that they never saw our clothes, it's our responsibility to keep our things safe rudely so and hung up on us. No electricity backup during loadshedding
Extremely overpriced. Understaffed. Poor poor service. The lodge is a house that has been sanctioned, the pictures are misleading. There is no provision for loadsheddibg either. Firstly the owner Ridhwaan refuses to reply, he left us on seen and would decline our calls, if you won't respond please remove your number. Jenny did a better job at reserving bookings. Our booking was from the 1 jan till the seventh six nights. We were charged R3.3k per night for one room with 2 double beds and one bathroom. There was barely any place to move. The price aside, the atmosphere is not calming at all, its extremely gloomy and eerie, furthermore, Jenny who was the main person there although seemingly nice would often complain to my mother about how "this Indian family" or "the pakistani family" ate too much breakfast or came too late. THIS IS A BED AN BREAKFAST. WE PAID FOR THE BREAKFAST. She would mize in the serving size and would complain when it would finish. The breakfast would comprise of a folded omelet, heated tinned beans/chickpeas. Two things only. Omelet + something else, small bread and tea. We didn't have breakfast the first day as we were in a rush, on our last day when we asked for more jam, her co-worker was on her way with some but Jenny stopped her and removed them Whispering how they were too many. Jenny also yelled at a 16 year old boy accusing him of stealing her charger in the most hostile manner and when he asked her to be polite, she raised her voice even more. This was so not professional because her charger was by her coworker who had to intervene. Our towels were never replaced nor were we given refills not in t&c. The owner was always unreachable and would pass on messages through Jenny. Jenny was visibly overworked as she would have to stay up late to open for guests that arrived late, "I sleep at 2 or 3 and wake up at 5:30" her exact words to me. Ridhwaan If you're reading this, do better. Your lodge doesn't deserve 3 stars. You're too overpriced for the service you provide. We would purposely arrive late to prevent the glum mood of your lodge from ruining our first CPT experience. Ridhwaan you need to be more present in your lodge, your lack of appearance is visible to your guests. Please tell Jenny to not speak ill about her guests to other guests, it makes us wonder who she spoke about us to. Hire more workers, they're evidently overworked and their frustration has no where to go other than their guests. They're not at fault. You are.
Had a lovely an welcoming stay at Savoy,we stayed here for a week.Jenny was excellent an vewi accomodating, felt like home away from home, rooms were cleaned daily, toiletries replace, clean towels, etc.Never had a problem even during load shedding we were provided with lights for the rooms.Well worth it for the price will def be bk again, shouted out to jenny an her team.
Very disappointed with the type of accommodation received once we checked in. We were moved to the "cottage" as we were 3 families with children. BEWARE, The photos of the cottage are misleading!! The cottage is actually a low cost house with 5 small rooms converted into a cottage! The rooms are VERY tiny with no space for even a single mattress for small children to sleep on the floor. We had to share a bathroom which is situated in another room. The linen abd pillows were smelly and the bed was even broken. The worst was the noise levels!! New guests kept arriving every night and to their surprise, they were also shocked to see their accommodation. The house alarm went off every single night around 2:30am!! I think we would have been better off booking at backpackers!! Atleast we know what to expect.. All of us including other guests spoke to the owner "RIZWAN" and demanded our refunds from him. He is the most rude guy ever who doesn't have a clue in the hospitality industry. He threatened us by saying he will not refund us even if we called the COPS!! Such audacity!! During our duration of stay, we didn't experience a good night's sleep. PLEASE GUYS BETTER BE SAFE THAN SORRY!! This accommodation is not child friendly and not even suitable for couples only. Rooms: Very irritating, noisy doors, not enough toilets and bathrooms. The toilet door is actually made of 2 pieces of boards and when closed, there's a 5cm gap between the doors!!
This is my 5th time visiting Cape Town and it was the first time I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast, this one called Savoy. We booked 3 rooms that accommodated for 3 and 4 people comfortably. Spacious toilets and sufficient cupboard space. There is also a mini fridge in each room to keep drinks cooled in the summer heat. Water bottles, kettles, mugs, tea and coffee were provided in each room. The BnB came at an affordable price suitable for everyone. The manager named Jenny,an incredible woman who goes out of her way to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of her clients. She personally makes the Breakfast and I was not disappointed, the breakfasts were extremely delicious. We were served anything from Eggs, baked beans, sausages, vieannas, Cold meat, various cereals, tea, coffee ect With regards to customer service, our rooms were cleaned, swept and mopped daily. Our bedsheets were dusted and beds were made neatly, our towels were washed and replaced daily. The staff are very friendly and are always there to assist. During loadshedding times, Jenny provided us with lights and mini lamps to navigate our way in the dark. Savoy offers sheltered parking opposite the BnB with a secured parking lot. Coming to the conclusion I can safely say with confidence that staying and the Savoy BnB was an incredible experience that I will be returning to. A big Thanks to Aunty Jenny and her staff that strive to keep customers and clients satisfied 247.
