Shongweni Dam

Water levels were very low. First visit in 20 years. A bit of work needed in some areas.

Drove all the way to Shongweni today only to find it has now been closed and that to..since April ..really disappointed

Quiet place to go. Great for team building

Loved our kayaking and giraffe walk. Our tour guides Freedom and Sphelele were very friendly and knowledgeable. Such a beautiful place to visit with amazing scenery

A natural lover's paradise

There's no proper signage signalling which direction to follow to reach the dam, had to use Google maps to find the right direction. After finally travelling in the right direction, there is a fee that you have to pay to enter to view the dam at R72 a person

Too much restrictions, and you have to book an activity to have access to the dam. You just cannot go just to picknick like before.

Beautiful and it is one of the best visiting areas.

Wow what a nice safe place. We were there today and it was a busy day for people who wanted to pivnic. A gentlemen came to our car to ask if he can help. We just wanted to go and see the campsite. He organised for us to go to the campsite accompanied by a warden, who told us everything we wanted to know. What a lovely peacefull place. We were accompanied back to the gate and we felt that the safety of the people aswell as us was their biggest concern. We will definetely be back to make use of the facilities and know we will be safe. Thank you very much for taking the time with us.
