I went there with some friends for Chinese New Year dinner. Positives: 1. Their traditional Chinese tea is a must try. They've got many different flavours and I recommend the Chrysanthemum tea. 2. Their beef was tender and juicy. 3. Crawfish was fresh and perfectly steamed and garnished. Negatives: 1. Service was a bit slow but the staff was really friendly. There's a large selection of authentic Chinese dishes, explore and give yourself a chance to try out anything that catches your eye on the menu. Their food is pricier than most other Chinese restaurants but you're paying for that authentic flavour. The ingredients are fresh and probably sourced on the day as they are right next to the local market.
Deliciously flavoured, well prepared authentic dim sum buffet. Such a great variety of fresh, piping hot options. Awesome lunch. They also have an a la carte menu. Go before 11 or book in advance.
A hidden gem in this neck of the woods. Has an amazing dumpling spread on Sundays apparently. Fresh, delicious food.
I highly doubt you will find a better dimsum brunch anywhere in South Africa. They serve this only on Sunday’s from about 10am onward. Either get their early, book or prepare to wait for a table. Ive had this brunch at least 10 times over the years. Never had a bad dish. Every dish you have is authentic, equivalent to eating in Guangzhou even. There is also an alacarte menu available for during the week lunch and dinner, but this dimsum brunch is what you need to go for.
It took so long before they even come to take our order after sitting us even tho the restaurant was empty it was unbelievable, over 30 minutes if not 40 and when they took our order they said that’s all ? because the kitchen close in 3 minutes… so yeah I guess and the food was ok, the beef ball, beef tripe and the turnip cake were good but the chicken congee was tasteless and the porc spareribs were just not good… to get the bill it was the same they just never come to the table even tho we were the only client in the restaurant since all the other one left already… they did have a cool sauce counter where you can go and get it yourself which was cool. Not the worst dim sum I’ve had but I’ve definitely had better. I don’t think it’s a bad Chinese restaurant but for dim sum maybe it’s not their forte. But over all the restaurants was clean from was i was seeing but the bathroom were simply in my top 20 worst bathroom I’ve seen so dirty I just ended up not going.
Excellent, authentic Chinese cuisine. The best sweet & sour pork,a comprehensive menu that offers a myriad of choices. Clean bathrooms and cold beer. There were many patrons in attendance.Food: 5/5
Food was decent. The Yum Cha items didn’t hit the spot quite like I’m used to other dim sum places. They looked great but some weren’t very tasty. Our favourite was the turnip cake. The Cheung Fun had about 2-5% filling. It was mainly just noodle.
Great place for different type of dinning experience , Remember to order Tsingtao beer Food: 4/5
Really busy on Sundays due to delicious out of the steamer dumplings. Authentic ingredients and dishes.Recommended dishesDim Sum
An authentic dining experience in Chinatown, food is delicious and worth the trip. Streets seem dodgy but is safe with heavily armed guards, expect to have some difficulty ordering language but all in all part of the experience. Lastly, go up the alley stairs to the top to get to the restaurant.
