Great 2 week stay, staff were very helpful, especially Isaac in the restaurant. Tidy rooms, great facilities and fantastic breakfast buffet in the morning. The buffet was the best option for dinner, we were underwhelmed when ordering directly off the menu so help-your-self was the way to go. Overall great stay and connection to the mall was very useful for shopping/ eating. Would return again! Nearby activities: Great connection to the mall next door. No need to leave the hotel to access. Safety: Hotel was well secured and felt safe

The rooms are a bit tired, some plugs and a lamp were not working. The lock on the door leading outside to the pool/garden was not working so basically one slept in a room that didn't lock. There is no mini-bar, had to ask for an ice-bucket. Their breakfast is good so is their buffet however, their ribs are of poor quality, something I'd give to my dogs. Beef stew had a lot of salt, their chicken was badly cooked it was soggy. Their malva pudding was hard and custard was lumpy. I ordered a chai latte for a night cap and all I received was a glass of warm milk it was supposedly the last one that should've been communicated prior. Their mousse had some after taste, really was not the best. The staff is friendly particularly MPHO, as busy as she was she treated us as though we were the only ones. If you are looking for an old style comfortable stay, it's the place to go. They are right next to the mall which is very convenient. If you're going to ask for a room that permits smoking just know that it is a bit too dark as it relies on side lamps for lighting, I guess it's for the ambience. Keke/Kele, she works in the diner by the registery. She needs to work on her people skills, she's impatient and lacks professionalism. They do allow walk-ins to enjoy their buffet at a fee. Seating is fairly comfortable and it's a nice place to get some work done, enough movement of people to keep the brain busy for those who enjoy people watching.

This hotel is linked to the Mimosa mall, which makes it very convenient. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, their food was exceptional. Great stay. I will be making my way there soon.Rooms: 5/5

I stayed for 10 nights with a large team of people for a local sporting event. The hotel went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, from early breakfasts to corporate rate for laundry. They allowed us use of meeting rooms for team meetings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The garden has been spruced up and the pool warmer. The rooms are bit tired, but we only slept in them! Really impressed

The Worst in The Southern Sun Group. Starting with rooms not being ready at 14:00 which is check-in time, no refreshments offered while you wait. No mini-bar fridge in the room, apparently they don't have enough for each room to have one, so you must improvise with an ice bucket. Only 1 bottle of 300ml still water provided per day. Day 2, housekeeping didn't replace the used hand towels...still no fridge available. Day 3, by 13:20 the room had not been cleaned by housekeeping...still no fridge, reported all issues to duty manager in order for hotel to redeem itself. Day 4, by 12:56 the room had not been cleaned by housekeeping, and informed same manager...by 14:57 housekeeping still did not bring fresh towels and maintenance walked past my room to move a fridge to another room - alas I only get an ice bucket again. Never has Southern Sun ever let me down this much. The only redemption is their chefs and evening waiting staff. If I wasn't booked to stay here by my employer for work, I would have demanded a refund and checked into another hotel.

Very great stay over if you are travelling from and to Cape Town. The food was great, rooms was spacious and absolutely comfortable. Staff at the hotel so helpful and friendly. I feel tho for the pricing it’s way to old school, walking from room to room to see my family as well as to the mall it’s thousands of steps. Not a problem to walk if you are healthy but since I have older people in my family it was definitely hard to get around. I was quite disappointed the mall linked to the southern sun does not have a generator. Wanted to watch a movie at 7 and lights where out in the mall only. thankfully southern sun as a generator will I stay again ? Yes.

The place is old and dated. It is DESPERATE for a face lift. I had their buffet first night and it was terrible overcooked lamb drenched in oil. I also had their beef ribs,they were just hard and dry. That menu needs a complete overhaul. The red velvet cake is delicious though. One thing that really made me upset is that housekeeping comes at 9am ,what the hell?for what reason ? Also why do they book their garden service early in the morning ?that leaf blower was so loud that I was forced to wake up earlier than planned - completely unacceptable. The ONLY thing that works there is their employees,they are very polite and extremely helpful. Everything else is just trash. Safety: Not the safest place,there is no access control to go to the rooms ,so anyone can go up to the rooms. Food & drinks: Terrible food. Menu needs a complete overhaul

Great stay at the hotel! Very conveniently located by the mall with plenty of restaurant options available. The hotel feels dated, but are clean and staff are very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast buffet with plenty of fruit and breakfast options.

My stay was peaceful, just the way I expected. The gym is way too small for more than 2 people, I liked the treadmill. Nearby activities: There is a walk through from the hotel to the mall. It is so convenient when you need buy anything urgently.
