DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. Rented a truck from these guys. They did not receive my first deposit so I paid a second deposit, R8k x 2. 20 minutes after collection of the vehicle, I got stuck alongside the highway in a pretty dangerous area. I then phoned Spartan Truck Hire to come fetch the vehicle, all the while driving very slowly, having to stop every few minutes to my destination. Spartan Truck Hire begged me to keep the vehicle, they would send out a technician that evening. The technician came, worked on the vehicle until about 22:00. I then used the vehicle from 06:00 the next morning, 45 minutes into my trip, the vehicle started breaking down again. I phoned Spartan Truck Hire who said its my problem and I should then rent more expensive vehicle. I have now been waiting almost 3 weeks for my deposit back, always an excise, from accounts is on it, sorry we are in meetings, et cetera. Today they tel me that they are taking both my deposits as it is my fault the vehicle broke. I have photos of the door rubbers literally falling off of the door, holes in the door while I am driving. Basically the vehicle is a danger, which is exactly what I said to them on the first complaint to them a few hours into renting the vehicle. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.
If the Star rating can go into the minis I would give Spartan Truck Hire a -5 star rating. I have rented a bakkie with this company more than 2 weeks ago. It is such a slep to get my deposit back. Every time I call they say my funds are being processed,but never comes through. I am so frustrated with this company and would not recommend anyone to do business with them , as the service on their financial side is bad!! I have a business my self and cannot understand how long it can take just to do a payment. Would not recommend to anyone. There are similar businesses out there that is way more efficient!!
These guys stole my deposit. Took advantage of a recently single parent who lost his wife just a month ago. Innocentia was utterly unhelpfull and even the ops manager sbu is useless as she promised me someone would phone me back and never did. I will however go on all platforms now to tell my storie and also to inform anyone of the risk of using your services!!!!!
worse experience ever, they gave us a truck that was impossible to drive with almost half a million km...we had to drive at 40 km/hours from Johannesburg to Durban. At Durban we had to argue to get it replaced with another that also got problems. what a nightmare was renting with Spartan
Rented a bakkie from this guys. The bakkie had an issue and it resulted in a burnt clutch. We have been using and renting a lot of their vehicles for the past years. And because of one disagreement on one invoice they are deciding to take us the legal way regarding an invoice of 11k. What a way to do business. This company is bull* and doesn’t know how to do business. On top of that when the bakkie broke, it took them more than 5hrs to send help and with no courtesy car.
Feels like a scam hiring from Spartan after using their trucks for a good cause. I would never recommend this company to anyone as what they quote is nowhere near to what they will invoice. Their operating model is very questionable and leans towards their gains at all cost.
Bad Service! The worst place you could ever go rent a car. We've waited for more than 8 hours for them to sign off the cars... Yet we have paid them in full. After 8 hours they tell us that the cars cannot go to the place we wanted them to go. This place doesn't even deserve a single Star. Bad Service. Bad Service. Bad Bad Service.
Help full staff to assist everyone nice place for hire trucks
WARNING!!! Smart Truck Hire does not pay back deposits. They do not answer calls and even block your number when you call to get your deposit back. THEY ARE NOT HONEST AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
Spartan Truck Hire Kempton Park, so disappointing!!! Not only was the service bad, but after two months of renting a bakkie with them, we where overcharged on our account and now have to fight everyday to get our money back. Don’t dare owe them anything they just take it straight off your credit card without approval. They will try worm their way out of what they owe you and find any reason not to pay it even if it means blaming each other for the mistake. Just pony up and pay what you owe Spartan. It’s shocking!!!!
