Service wise they were good. Car delivered and collected with no issues. On the other side they charged me Gauteng toll gates for every pass through the tollgate. SANRAL is charging monthly subscription, no mater through how many tollgates you pass. What First charged me was more than 400% more. this is not ethical and it is unfair.
Avoid this company at all cost!!! They completely steal money from their customers. We picked up our rental car in George where it already had a chip in the windshield. This was not marked on the inspection sheet, so we took a video at time of pick-up to have proof that it was already there. When we returned the car in Sandton, we mentioned this to the guy and showed him the video and he said all should be fine. My card was then charged a couple days later for a replacement windshield and my deposit was never returned to me. In total, they charged me $600 in what should have been a $200 rental. We contacted their customer service department multiple times and they refuse to cooperate and completely ignore the fact that we have evidence of the chip already being there at time of pick-up. I am absolutely appalled with this company and will now have to take it up with my credit card company who will hopefully take them down. They also asked for a petrol receipt when we returned the car, but why should that even matter if the tank is full?! I’ve never experienced that before. Long story short, DO NOT USE FIRSTCAR
I can definitely recommend this company for Car hire. The service was excellent. The Suzuki Brezza was the best drive.... Thank you so much!!
We asked for a Ford eco sport and this is what they gave us what a horrible car. Don’t go here they force cheap Chinese cars on you
FirstCar is the worst car rental company!!!! DO NOT HIRE A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT! They only seek to make a high profit from their customers from every rental. I am very upset with the lack of professionalism shown by FirstCar. 1 More than 2 weeks have passed since I returned my rental car and my R3000 deposit has not yet been returned to me. 2 R12 825 was deducted as an excess fee for repairs required on the bonnet of the first car that I was given for rental. This is exploitative because the amount that the company has had to pay for excess on the claim for repairs to the vehicle is well below this amount. I am truly repulsed by the extent to which FirstCar has tried to make a profit from this accident and the extent to which the company exploits its customers. I will never use your car rental company again. 3 The invoice that I was supplied by Tiaan showing damages to the vehicle also claims for a windscreen. When I returned the vehicle, the windscreen did not have any new cracks or damages. I checked the vehicle with an employee when I returned it to the airport. This means that they are also claiming for damages not caused by me. I am very upset about this and disssapointed in the way that FirstCar conducts its business and in the way the company treats its customers.
I brought the car back with a full tank. however, after some days, they informed me that the tank was not full and deducted the amount plus a fee on the deposit. this is also a way how to make money…with auch unpleasant procedures which I have nowhere else seen in the world. what a bad customer relationship…
I had their car for two weeks and had no hassle returning it. Fast service with friendly staff. The place is uncrowded, at the time I visited I was the only guest there. I would use them without hesitation.
I was overcharged by 1732km - please beware of this. Luckily I had photographic proof of the odometer when I dropped my car as I opened a dispute and this was needed in order to settle this. When you collect your car from ORT, the lighting in exceptionally poor and you can't do a correct inspection. I luckily had no issues with this, but this was actually acknowledged by their Sandton office as an ongoing issue. This is also how they will charge you for damage that was existing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You have been warned.
I'm giving these guys a 1. I'm absolutely livid. I recently upped my rating when I collected my rental, but we are back to square 1. I collected my rental on the 13 April 2022. It was due to be returned today, 13 May 2022. I got a text message advising me of the return date, the day before. I get to the the branch this morning, and they have moved from Sandton to Hyde Park. There's just a sign on the gate. Nobody bothered to let me know they were moving when I fetched the car. Nobody let me know when I called to enquire about the type of petrol to fill up. The text reminder to return the car did not include the new address. There was no recording advising of a change of address on their contact number. This was a major inconvenience. ******************************* This is my second time using the branch since 2019. I still have an issue with no electronic payments allowed for deposits unless you have a credit card or a cheque card. The call prior to my fetching the car was comprehensive and advised of payment options. The caller was very professional. Service at the branch was professional, friendly and effortless. The book out process was very simple and paperless. The car was clean, and well maintained.
I made a reservation I got a call 1 hour before I am meant to collect the car to say the car is unavailable at the time I needed it. The staff were unhelpful and did not keep me updated with the progress to resolve my issue. When I collected my car their card machines didn't work. And the checkout process took me half an hour and I was the only person at the pick up point.
