Cocktails are incredible! Food was excellent, and all round vibes were great. Only criticism is that curation of the music playlist inside could have been a little better beautiful jazz and then a sudden genre hop hahaFood: 5/5
Beautiful venue and great overall concept. Our experience was a little marred by the continued whir of the generator needed to keep the lights on kinda. Service was very slow, but the combination of complex cocktails created by the mixologists and loadshedding is bound to make its own interesting cocktail of calamity.
Wonderful cocktail bar with a lovely ambiance/atmosphere. They have a great and varied cocktail menu and can help with recommendations to your style. We didn't have any bites to eat but the menu looked delicious. Definitely recommend a visit!
Hands down the best cocktails in town. It may seem presumptuous at first, that’s ok but power through this because you have never drank something like this. It’s literally like Alice in Wonderland. Welcome to wonderland. Don’t ask for a negroni, sbagliato, with Prosecco in this temple of carefully crafted please!
They have a generator so loadshedding is no problem. Great cocktails and ambience. The food is actually pretty good too. The Japanese pancakes and pork belly dumplings are quite good. I'd give the sticky rice a skip.
The best cocktail bar in the world .u can never find such amazing cocktails made at sintax any where else ..visit for a great experience!! Everything about sintax is amazing ...situated in a kinda hidden place, guys at the door are amazing..the service is super cool and talk of the cocktails...super peculiar!!
Really really great. WEnt there the first time this Thursday. Had delicious cocktails, really nice seating, really nice ambience in the outside section. And we had delicious aubergine snacks. Yum! Also, the best part: the cocktails. Holy moly they were great! I take my hat off to the barman. The waitress we had was also such a sweetheart. And most importantly, we watched some awesome jazz. Such a great night, will be returning
Quite simply the best cocktail bar in Jozi. I love an old fashioned and they just absolutely crush it. The food is new since I was last there and it’s genuinely amazing. Street food is the theme of the menu burgers, burritos & taco’s The place is incredibly well run and has proper owner involvement behind the bar and in general service. I highly recommend sitting at the bar to learn a bit from Julian he’s a true artist. The outside section is also new and just has a great chilled vibe about it. If you haven’t been you have to. It’s just the best little night out.
The perfect hangout spot if you want to chill in Rosebank but away from the crowd. Sin-tax is a hidden gem just off Bolton avenue yet, once behind the Black door, you feel as though you’re on holiday somewhere. The staff are extremely attentive and super professional. The band provides the perfect ambience to a fun-filled evening. Don’t tell the world about this venue. It’s SOOOO GOOD you want to keep it to yourself!
To start, I had a great experience being in contact with the hostess and manager. They do not take reservations so best get there early to save a table. Initially, service was great but eventually fell off later in the evening when we ended up waiting up to an hour for a cocktail or service from the bar and wait, staff. The outside surrounds have random bricks and old outdoor furniture in dark corners. The active table and seating area is quite novel. The food was extremely well prepared and delicious although there were service delays around cutlery and other requests, which caused the food to end up lukewarm yes that's how long we waited for cutlery we still enjoyed it. Now on to the cocktails. They are extremely well-balanced and delicious. There are a few inconsistencies regarding garnishes and turnaround time from ordering one to getting it. Everyone quite enjoyed their drinks but eventually, we lost our patience and left early on, especially after a couple of hours from ordering another round which we didn't receive. If it wasn't for the good company and conversation I feel we would have had less patience and left after our meals. There is a lot of potential, although their service leaves much to be desired. *interior is small but quite niche. Stars for initial contact and food/drinks. Negatives - service
