Springvale Primary School (Centurion) : PERSEVERE!

I attended Springvale from 1981 Grade 1 in those days to 1988 when I left in what used to be known as Standard 5. I'm happy to see that the school is still doing well. I'm proud to have been one of the first students to ever attend. We had a wonderful group of teachers. And even if Maria Werner scared the living poop out of us, she was an amazing head-mistress. I plan. Ti come and look around with my own kids when I return for a visit to South Africa. I have a myriad of fantastic memories about the school and I have to say that it helped forge me into a successful, kind, caring individual. Keep up the good work. And keep enforcing the rules. We all had to every them. And it served us all well. Those of us that are still alive.

My grandchildren have been attending Springvale Primary throughout the Grade R year. They were enrolled in the school for Grade 1. It is with disgust that a letter was sent to the parents on Friday stating that they could not attend Grade 1 next year due to the parents financial challenges and the challenge with the payment of school fees. What happened to the passion for education and the gift of education apart from the human rights laws that "every child is entitled to an education". These two little girls were so excited to attend Grade 1. The challenge is now that we have to approach the Dept. of Education to place them in a school. The decision not to accept them based on the parents financial position disgusts me. Schools are no longer in the business for the true meaning of education but have become a playing field for the rich. Seems that if you have money your children are more deserved of an education. I am so disgusted and intent to fight this for the sake of my grandchildren to the bitter end.

I love this school the system is awesome and the teachers and the principle,Mr Wood I would really recommend that you come to this school. I would know I am a springvaler myself so it's a great school
