Hubby and I married here 20 years ago, so we booked a return trip, first time we've been back since wedding. We booked a cabana for the evening meal and wow...the meal was amazing, the waiters were so friendly and attentive without being in your face. Hubby and I felt very chilled out that evening. The room was big, and clean and the bathroom was nice. Breakfast was good but was surprised by lack of veggie options. Hubby wanted sausages with his fry-up but there were none. Apart from that, I would recommend Stirrups for a nice evening out.
We stayed at The Stirrups to be nearer the wedding venue of our son. Having had lunch there a few months ago to see how much time to allow on the day, we had good vibes from that.We stayed two nights - our room in the Stables was modern, light and spacious with a big bathroom and impeccably clean. Beautiful grounds with deer wandering around and superb breakfast. Staff were very friendly. Our other son had a family room in the main house which again was large, clean and comfortable and a nice touch was the activity pack for our granddaughters. This is the best 3 star hotel I have ever stayed in. Lots of parking too so highly recommend.
So disappointed with our recent visit here. We had an impromptu post work gathering here and wanted to sit outside. As it looked like rain we headed for the under canvas area around the back and put 3 tables together so we could all enjoy being together 15 or so of us. A member of staff rushed out telling us we couldn't sit there as we were in a private area, so we had to move elsewhere. She quickly moved us on and chained off the area. Quite perplexing to then note that this private area was left completely unused for the rest of the evening! We then got told off for putting three other tables together because the umbrellas were overlapping it was raining!. It was just hard to feel welcome here. Nonetheless some of us proceeded inside to have a meal as planned and fair play, Alex, our server, was utterly fantastic and really made up for the earlier lack of true customer service. I would suggest he give some pointers to his colleagues as to how to make paying guests feel welcomed and accommodated. Food was good too.
Big room with separate kid's beds, so that's always great. Nice restaurant and breakfast. The servers and service was really good. They helped us out when we had a couple issues with the food. Everything was handled very well and quickly. Nearby activities: It's close to LaplandUK, Windsor, and Legoland Food & drinks: Thai green curry was amazing! Tasted better than what I had in Thailand, but stay away from the kid's Mac and Cheese.
Excellent Experience at the winter dining pods! Menu variety and food never disappoints. Our highlight though was our sever Matt, who has remembered us after 3 years of coming back to the winter pods, and always goes out of his way to provide an outstanding service! Nothing is ever too much trouble and he makes the pod experience outstanding.
Had a Christmas dinner their with friends and members who where in wheelchairs. Apart from maybe needing a couple more disabled parking spaces in the car park. Everything was amazing. Food service. Friendly staff who couldn't do more to help any of us. Would use again and recommendService: 5/5
We were two people and a small dog, walk-ins on a cold and dark Sunday tea-time. Following a frosty excuse the pun reception at the hotel desk, we were made to feel very welcome by the restaurant / bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble and, although initially the only table available was in the foyer, they made sure we were warm and comfortable. Special mention to “Max” but all staff were kind and helpful. We ended the meal in the main bar by the roaring open fire, full, content and with a very happy hound. 4 stars only for the initial not welcome.
Well what can I not say about this hotel!!. Clean comfy rooms, warm, great food, welcoming staff, and such a warm friendly feeling. We went to stay as we visited lapland only a short stay away. Family friendly my 5 year old wants to go back and stay longer. We will be returning. Thank you again everyone. Rooms: 5/5
Went for afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. Despite making a booking they didn't have a big enough table available on arrival and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Did not allow us to swap any of the sandwiches even though other reviews said they had. The cakes were all traybakes so nothing special and no delicate decoration. Overall nothing special.
My wife and I celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday 11th December 2022 at the hotel and cannot praise highly enough the staff involved in the lead up to the event and on the actual day itself. They ensured that every aspect of the day were met from the setting up of the Windsor Room, attention to detail, the excellent quality/presentation of the food and service throughout the whole time we and our guests were there. Special mention must be paid to the following staff members namely: Dori, Helen, Brent, Jason, Mimi Abi, the chef and everyone else who contributed behind the scene. Everyone of the guests were very impressed with the staff and catering. Many thanks to the Stirrups Hotel for making this a truly memorable day for us and our guests.
