Summerstrand Beach Lodge in Port Elizabeth, is perfectly situated 4 houses from our lovely Pollok Beach & walking distance to all 3 our other main beaches, such as Hobie Beach, Kings Beach & Humewood beach. The Guest House is situated next to Pick & Pay shopping centre and walking distance to all major Sports Events, Boardwalk Casino, Entertainment Restaurants, Bars, Cinemas, Tenpin Bowling Radisson Hotel and lots more. In addition the Guest House in Summerstrand self-catering or bed and breakfast ), is literally 2 minutes drive from the Humewood Golf Course, 5 minutes drive from PE International Airport, 400m from Pearson High School, Summerwood Primary School & 2 minutes drive from Nelson Mandela Bay University.

We are also perfectly situated for a variety of day trips to the Addo Elephant Park, Kariega, Sebuya, Schotia, Shamwari, Lalibela, Amakhala and many other popular game reserves. Or to simply just take a long, relaxing walk on the beach…. and on the way back, stop at the Marine Hotel and enjoy a refreshing, ice cold, beer or cocktail on there veranda overlooking the sea.

Summerstrand Beach Lodge is graded with AA Tourism ( Highly Recommended). We offer fully Self-Catering or Bed &Breakfast accommodation, all with there own private entrances. Our accommodation consist of studio units, 1 bedroom units and 2 bedroom units. All our units are equipped with M-Net, fans, heaters, safes and fully equipped kitchens, bedding and towels. In addition we also offer secure parking behind remote gates, braai areas & a pool for your enjoyment. Complimentary Tea & Coffee available on request.

We offer Breakfast ( Full English breakfast or Continental ), lunch Packs and Dinner on request which can be served in our Thatched Breakfast / Dining area, or in your room for your convenience. The Thatched dining & entertainment area, with Braai facilities can be rented for meetings, private functions or serving of own meals for large groups ( Example: School Groups ). This Lapa area can seat 16 – 18 people. This facility is ONLY AVAILABLE for SLEEP IN GUESTS. Rates available on request.Summerstrand Beach Lodge's self-catering or Bed & Breakfast Accommodation is suitable for Business, Holiday, Overnight or Semi permanent accommodation. We cater for all !! Special Rates will be provided on Semi-Permanent (Monthly) and Group Bookings. A Laundromat is only 100 m from our door step.

Very average. Had to get a cleaner to clean the cutting board in the kitchen which still had sugar / breadcrumbs on it. Had to as for more toilet paper as there was only one roll for 4 people for three days. Right next to a varsity residence which we had to ask every night to quiet down. The last night we phoned the owner to ask her to intervene with students. They eventually did. Price reasonable. Comfortable beds.
We Paid R920 per night for the unit upfront to secure it. Upon arrival we unpacked and went out. When we came back round about 21:30, after supper, we showered and went to bed. First of all the main light in the bedroom did not work at all. The main light in the lounge was blown, so I had to switch bulbs from inside the unit to make due. The one seat on the couch in the lounge was well and truly "sat through" and had seen better days. When we showered, the door was very difficult to slide and almost fell off the rails. We could oversee all of the above, but.... The worst was that the bed was very worn and made a noise with every turn. In all honesty, we could not notify Ronell about this at 22:00 at night, seeing that the lights were off. Also we've already unpacked and to move rooms at 22:00 at night in your pajamas......does not make sense. We checked out early the next morning and e-mailed the owner our concerns. The owner agreed with us that the bed was not up to standard but refused to provide us with a refund or a portion of the one day's stay, even though she agreed that the bed is not right. Decency and respect prevented us from waking them up so late at night, and if we did, who would like to move all their stuff to another room at that time of night? Unfortunately it leaves a bad taste and I will most definitely not reccomend this institution with such a one-sided approach.

Very beautiful place. It's a must visit. Sleeping and waking up looking at the open ocean is an experience one needs to have at least once in their lifetime. Listening to the ocean's sounds and feeling the breeze at night is just soothing. The lodge is the big cherry on top. Their service is wonderful.
Dear Owner, Wow!!!!! what a amazing experience!!!! not only is Summerstrand Beach Lodge welcoming and warm, the food and beverage were five star. Thank you once again! your rooms were clean and fresh it felt like 7th heaven. Everything was absolutely amazing, thank you for a wonderful experience and stay. You will definitely see us AGAIN!!!!!!!
The place was neat and very clean. What surprised us is that the file to show guests of the soundings, was hidden and we only found the morning as we were leaving. It was dusty showing that no one has used it a very long time.
Friendly reception , even the resident dog received and welcomed us. Quiet, clean and affordable. Recommend it to all.
We had a great time with my husband,the place was very neat and spaceous,will defenately use it again,bt if you can have heaters and also put tvs in the rooms,we were in unit 4 dear
We had a wonderful experience at the lodge. The hostess / owner was so warm and welcoming. Will most definitely go back next year for our family get away.
A very cosy place, its nice and spacious! They have EXCELLENT wifi!! And the hosts are so friendly and helpful! Will recommended it!
