Great facility with an exciting mountain facing or ocean view. Warm and responsive staff, great food, easy connection to a mall for a wide range of shopping options. I had a wonderful time and would surely consider a repeat visit.
We didn't have a bad time at Table Bay Hotel, but it's not at all appropriate to expect a 5-star experience. The main reason to stay here is the location. Our room offered a great view and an acceptable bed. We had a corner room on the 6th floor that overlooked the harbor and set us up for a great view of Table Mountain. That's why I give an honest 3 stars. My wife and I are middle income Americans who have had the opportunity to travel quite frequently across the globe. We've stayed at a wide range of properties from very modest to luxury hotels worthy of 5 stars. I think we have reasonable expectations based on the cost of the respective stay. I would begin by saying all of the staff we interacted with were curtious and professional. I believe the negative experiences we encountered were due to the age of the property and poor management and hotel policy. The property is wearing out. The lobby is fine, but our room was a bit rough. Carpets are worn, faded, and stained in places. The overall decor felt like it came from 30+ years ago. There was painted over wood rot on trim pieces and very dated tile work in the bath. The shower was our greatest annoyance. Water alternates between scalding and freezing regardless of valve setting. We tried to use the tub to avoid the temperature spikes, but that led to flooding in the toilet area because of some sort of leak in the tub drain. It was easily the worst bathing experience we had on our 2.5 week trip across the country. The food on-site is similar to a cruise ship; convenient but mediocre and over-priced. We really disliked the policy of having to pre-pay for room charges. We elected to pay-as-you-go and were equally disappointed with how inconvenient they made the process. We didn't regret having stayed here, but the current rating of 4.6 is not at all accurate. Again, we had a good experience with all staff interactions. Given the hotel's current condition and management, we would not return or recommend to friends and family.
One of the best hotels in Cape Town with stunning views from the rooms. If you book the room with mountain vies, you'll get to see Table Mountain from your room with harbor view as well. Nice room size, clean, comfortable and cozy with very friendly staff. We stayed twice at our visit in South Africa this trip once in February which was all perfect. The second stay was at the beginning of the March. We noticed a bit problem in the room, and informed the reception immediately. It did took a while to finally solve the problem, but the result is very satisfying. They provided us a room change and helped with settling everything. Guest Relations Manager, Vanessa, is the best and takes care of every detail with her heart. She handles the little problem so well that we feel so touched. The phone calls afterwards checking back to make sure if everything is ok also showed us that she truly cares. The hotel connects directly to the shopping mall from the lobby. Excellent location for shopping, restaurants and more. Breakfast in the hotel offers a great selection of variety and all delicious. Truly recommend for travelers from anywhere. Love this place, I'll definitely go back again.
The hotel staff stole money from the room!! We arrived with a large group of tourists. In a few days, 6 thefts were committed, from 300 to 1300 dollars from bags in a hotel room. The security service is most likely also involved in this, since nothing has been done on their part. I recommend never to stay in this hotel if you don't want to be robbed.
Everything was great here - it's a big hotel so you can be somewhat anonymous and come and go as you please. The staff are always willing to help and ensure you are having a nice time. It's in a great location and has some great views. Our room was very nice, overall I'd highly recommend this hotel!Rooms: 5/5
We have just spent 7 nights at the Table Bay hotel It's so beautiful everything was absolutely perfect The staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you Rooms are spotless and serviced daily with turn down service every night The food is beautiful and breakfast was excellent with so much to choose from We would highly recommend the Table Bay hotel for anyone visiting Capetown Thank you for making our stay so memorable
Hard to beat it... right in the heart of everything on the waterfront. Rooms either face the bay like ours or Table Mountain. It's a really big place with one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever seen.Rooms: 5/5
Enjoyed a drink at the bar with a friend, haven't been here in ages. Hardly anyone around which was great as it was late. A nice spot to get away from the crowds at the V&A. To actually stay here is not possible, but maybe one day.....‍I'm sure it's lovely.
The Table Bay Hotel, Capetown, S Africa, is a great location- right on the wharf and within walking distance to many tourist attractions. Staff is friendly and accommodating . Our room, on the top floor, was spacious, with a king size bed, and a great view of the bay. Breakfast is included : a large buffet with many fruits, cereals, nuts, meats, cheeses, juices and eggs and hot cereal can be ordered.
This review is late however it's no reflection on our experience at Table Bay Hotel. We stayed twice already & the rooms, the service and the food was absolutely fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and the service received from the staff during our breakfast. Well done to Laa'iqah Nordien for making us feel like Royalty. The breakfast really delicious. Also a thank you to Margo, manager of the lounge for taking cate of us.We will be back. Well done ladies.God bless
