TEACH South Africa is a public benefit organisation led by the business community in an effort to address the educational gap that persists in the country.
TEACH South Africa was started by the South African business community in direct response to finding ways to improve South Africa’s economy. After years of researching educational initiatives around the world, the TEACH South Africa founding members decided to be part of the solution by placing highly skilled and motivated recent university graduates in the classroom. This will not only benefit the learners and help close the achievement gap that persists in South Africa, but also prepares a generation of learners to be better prepared for university and the workplace.
TEACH South Africa recruits and trains top university graduates to teach Maths, Science, Technology and English in disadvantaged schools, in urban and rural areas, for a period of two years.
Participants, called TEACH Ambassadors, will help South Africa and give back to communities, while developing critical leadership skills for the classroom and beyond.
With TEACH South Africa’s support, TEACH Ambassadors become lifelong leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity
