We are an early childhood development and stimulation workshop.

Toptots is a preventative programme.
Whilst we cannot guarantee that your child will not have a problem later on, we can do as much as possible to ensure that all areas of development are well taken care of.
At Toptots, our programme is well structured.
Our activities are designed in such a way that we can see the bigger picture. We look at the development of a child from birth to preschool. We understand what they can and cannot do and which areas are important to develop. Our activities are then arranged according to the specific needs and age level of the child. For this reason, we like to keep our age grouping as close as possible. Your child has special gifts. We help you find to those gifts, and set them on the road to success with love. These early years that your little one has with you are the most important years of their life, and we help them reach their full potential and get a head start in life. The programme is designed in such a way that at the end of a four- year period, your child will have covered every aspect of school readiness for this age.
Our classes are age specific.
You attend a class once a week for 1-½ hours at a time, always with the same group of parents and children. Our activities are explained to you in each session in such a way that you can then work on a one to one basis with your child, thus making you your child’s first and most important teacher! As a parent, you will learn new and interesting facts on development that you will not always find in a book. You will become familiar with new terminology and skills that will keep you abreast of our education system. Our weekly activities cover every area of development, with emphasis on Gross motor, Fine motor, Intellectual, Emotional and Social development. We ensure the development of well-rounded individuals.
Leaning must be fun.
We expose your child to different textured items every week. The reasons are numerous but the main reason being that we do not want your child to have a sensory problem that may affect school performance. At Toptots and you will join other moms and dads having fun with children, playing with them in tubs of feathers, rice bubbles, jelly or flour.
Spontaneous Expression feeds creativity!
We are not afraid of a mess, so be prepared for your child to get a bit grubby from time to time. We believe in spontaneous creativity and thus allow your child the freedom of painting with different mediums, exploring textured paint and many more fascinating creative ideas. This is a luxury that most parents do not have the time or energy for at home. For this reason, we make it a special part of your class time.
Music is not only for listening to, it is in essence, fundamental to our development.
Music is a wonderful medium as it stimulates more than fundamental learning; it is a pleasurable way for children to express themselves. Music is basically creative energy captured in sound that allows children to cope with the environment. There are so many physical, emotional and external changes taking place in a toddler’s life. Music helps children to understand this environment and to express their feelings about their environment – especially when words are not available to do so. At Toptots, you will enjoy the most up to date and exclusive music programme available, especially developed for Toptots by one of South Africa’s leading musical talents.
Toptots gives you the time to expose your child to other children and relevant activities
In this day and age, most parents have to work, whether they work from home as home executives or full time in a high profile job. Not often do you find a parent who can be a full time caregiver, stimulator, teacher etc, however, we do know that most parents share the desire to do what is best for their children. At Toptots, you will enjoy the opportunity to discuss common concerns and current trends with other parents. Your child will be given the opportunity to interact with children of the same age and you will learn a great deal about how children develop their social skills.
The Toptots programme is based on perceptual development
Because our programme is based on perceptual development, you should not expect to see an overwhelming reaction from your baby in the first few months. At this age most of the activities are developing and strengthening areas, which are not obvious to us, like the muscles in the eyes and hands, development of the large muscles and relationship building with you as the parent.
Toptots is not only for children who do not go to school.
Toptots is the perfect programme for every child. Many of our franchises have Saturday classes to give the working parent this unique opportunity. Toptots gives you the opportunity to observe your child in various ways. You will be there to praise your child’s accomplishments and you will be there to assist where your child may have difficulty.
