we were very unhappy with our accommodation which didn't meet the bare minimum of hygiene or privacy, such that we left early and had to find accommodation elsewhere. These are the incidents my boyfriend and I encountered. Day 1. Saturday we arrived to a room that stank of chemical detergent and paint so that we both woke up with headaches. Later we found 6 urinal bricks under our bed causing a toxic stink. Day 2. Sunday we were woken up by other guests screaming and shouting. Day 3. Monday morning no hot water in the showers. Also a broken toilet seat in one of the bathrooms made available to us. The 2nd bathroom the door could not close. Day 4. Tuesday We were woken up with painters at our bedroom windows looking in to where we were sleeping. Day 5. Wednesday we were woken up at 8am to the sound of painters scraping our window with a scraper for about an hour. I went to shower and during my shower a painters head popped up to the window where there was only half a curtain so he could see in. Later the same thing happened to my boyfriend on the toilet after we notified the manager on duty who said he had forgotten to tell the painters not to be at the windows in the morning. At this point we felt we had to leave and found accommodation elsewhere.
The people are amazing. Felt like was visiting family. Awesome people awesome place.
The Grand Res is a wonderful place to live for students. It has a homely environment and amiable staff. I've fallen in love with this place, honestly. Everyone here has been so helpful in helping me settle in and find my feet.
Great place for someone who isn't outgoing. It's more like residences at RU campus, just different locations. For someone who likes things& wants freedom it's a NO!
Nothing especially fancy. A great place to sleep. The bars and restaurants are quite close by. Not exactly bad, but nothing particularly exciting at the Res.
Cockroaches in my room. Gross beds and terrible location. They really did the bare minimum here. Atleast they served a breakfast buffet
The TV on the Lounge is too high up, but i had a great time with Zethu N.
Its a very nice place The owner is kind and sweet oh my word i love it
It's a nice res with both single and double bedrooms. They have beds, curtains and wardrobes
