Located just a stone's throw from King's Beach, as well as the newly refurbished Boardwalk Shopping Center, makes Kelway Hotel an ideal place to stay at whilst visiting Port Elizabeth. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The food served is tasty and well presented. Friendly staff who are always willing to help.Rooms: 5/5
NICE room. However. We booked THREE ROOMS and one room for my mom-in-law was in a section that reaked of old cigarette smoke. We travelled very far and wanted to drink something on Christmas day, however we were told that they can not serve us drinks, whilst there were other people drinking drinks on the deck at the restaurant on two occasions. We had to wait till 18:30 to eat and get drinks. Our waitress was friendly and helpful.
Loved this place. Staff were amazing, extremely helpful and very friendly. Just sorry for undisciplined and extremely noisy guests.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely hotel in a nice part of PE. We stayed for only one night but it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It wasn't perfect as there some very minor issues. One was that the shower wasn't great, it was an old head that neither saves water, nor gives good pressure. There weren't any soaps or shampoos in my room, I usually bring my own but some hand soap would be appreciated. The TV selection was below par, but that didn't bother me too much as I was out the whole day effectively. The biggest issue would be that there was only one usable plug in the room. I had to choose between charging my laptop and my phone. It was also strange that my room door was open when I arrived. Otherwise, it was an incredible stay. The bed was comfy, room and hotel was neat, the bar had a good selection of drinks, the breakfast was good, the hotel was close to the beach and some incredible restaurants down the road.
Had our annual function at the hotel. Yummy food, really friendly staff and great service. Thank you Kelway! Service: 5/5
This place is a little gem in PE. The rooms are very clean and only slightly dated. The bar/lounge if beautiful with great views of Kings beach. The attached restaurant have a huge deck with equally great views. The beds are a little small and a little firm for my liking, but over all not bad. For a king bed, they push together two single beds. Every room has a safe. I never used the TV, so I cannot review that. The maid and laundry service are very good. The food at the restaurant is good, but get to the buffet early or they will run out of food. Their menu is small, but has a good variety. It was all good. The bar has a good selection and the bar staff are very friendly and will keep your drink refilled if wanted. Overall, what you get for the price here is very, very good.
It's in great location near the beach with beautiful sea viewService: 5/5
Bit of a shocker :- Barman did not know how to open a bottle of wine and each of us got a different type of glass for the wine as they did not have enough wine glasses. There were 6 people in the bar/restaurant area and we recieved one stemless tumbler, one red wine glass and a fluted white wine glass for our premium red wine. Also had to call or go look for the barman. Our waitress was a delight, friendly and very appologetic as the food was also dismal. Steak was very tough and severely under cooked blue rare and ice cold when asked for medium rare and snitzel was bone dry. Sauce is a added extra and is equal to about 2 table spoons. Not a pleasant experience. Mailed management, have not heard anything back.
Beautiful, classy and serene place within a walking distance to the beachRooms: 4/5
