This is by far one of my new favourite restaurants. With an amazing ambience that makes you escape Cape Town and go to somewhere in Spain. Enjoying the nightlife with live music playing in the background, amazing share platters and great drinks this is a Definitely a must go.
Enjoyable experience. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. I loved the look of the bar area and thought the options on display offered a nice range for all tastes and budgets. Large tables makes it a good spot for groups but it can also offer more intimate dining. We were surprised to find the restaurant quiet on the night we visited, however, being winter and a week night, this was understandable. The menu offers some unique options such as a crumbed hake bau and a variety of other bau's as well as more traditional meals such as steak, which I ordered with a side of broccoli that was delicious. Overall good friendly service, a nice although slightly limited range of options and in the mid to high price range but definitely worth a visit.
The tapa was lovely. Especially the halloumi bao. The Angus steak was dry and inedible. The apple crumble was disappointing at best. My soul is sad.
Excellent! They hosted our group of 57 seventh graders and were so accommodating! The food was delicious, too!
Delicious food, lovely venue, attentive service. A nice hidden gem at Napier Street. The atmosphere was cosy, the menu offered great choice so did the wine list. All our food was great and fun to share. Good value for money. The service was very personable. We had a great time, check it out.
The decor is much the same as it was with the previous restaurant. Not necessarily a bad thing - you can spend a lot of time and effort not really making something better. The food was good. If I had to rate the whole evening's food I would say the starters and the deserts are disproportionately more enjoyable than the mains. That said, the mains was still a good and I would gladly go back as the combination of food and mood made for a perfectly enjoyable evening. I get the impression that they were a bit too busy for the amount of staff but at no point did it feel like they made it my problem. We had to wait a bit for our food and without us saying a word the hostess came over to apologise for the wait and offer us a glass of wine for the wait. It's great for an evening out but I'll think twice if it was for a special occasion.
Trendy with excellent food. Recommend the squid tacos! A little above average prices and You may be hungry when leaving if you stick to tapas. Mains are decent portions. You will possibly have to speak pretty loud, almost shouting as there is little sense of background music. No one minds good tunes but I'd rather not have to compete with the music. OK for parties of 4 that don't mind repeating themselves often.
New spot, taking over from Cafe Dijon. Decor remains the same, the space has just been opened up a bit. We opted to share some tapas plates rather than have mains. Some dishes were good, others were less impressive. The tuna ceviche was the standout dish for us. The wine list was quite limited and not the best selection. Also found the wine prices to be high. Coffee was terrible. I actually love the venue, particularly the outside area which I think is delightful in summer. We did go soon after opening so I'm sure the dishes will improve as the restaurant finds its feet. I'm happy to wait a while and give it another chance. Maybe an al fresco lunch on a summery day.
Not the best tapas restaurant I've been to. Menu looked promising, but execution was something entirely different. Cucumber served on everything. Why? Oil used for deep frying did not taste fresh. Ruined the soft shell crab and the squid tacos. Unlikely that we will be back.
The Tapas are brilliant...pity that it's only setting you up for beyond average mains. Very little flavour in the well presented ribs and the bland ness of their fillet is something no one should ever go through. It's a great place to go have tapas and overpriced alcohol. The service could be improved.
