Very cool and creative restaurant! It's not a traditional Cantonese dim sum place, but is a more modern styled Cantonese restaurant! I would recommend if you are looking for something different and new. The black truffle fried rice is delicious and special. Some dishes are okay just in my opinion. So it really depends on what you order. service is fine, price is okay. Overall, it is a cool place to eat:
Food was amazing. Waitstaff awesome. We had reservations, however the hostess in charge was just awful. Sign said wait here, there were about 15 people in line...4 ahead of us. People just started bypassing the line and were seated ahead of everyone waiting. Suddenly a guy came out and told everyone to move outside the restaurant and start a new line. So now we were behind 20 people. Tensions flared all around. Better system is needed.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city!! Amazing food, decor and drinks. Can’t go wrong here with all the amazing food options and they have new specials all the time too. Love this place!Food: 5/5
Beautiful presentation, amazing dumplings, good service but disappointing entree. Seafood dumplings were my favourite. They were stuffed with shrimp and the chili-vinegar sauce was perfect compliment. Xiao long bao were good - pretty standard, but serving them in a spoon prevented any spills! Pork and shrimp siu mai were very juicy and had great texture, I’d order this one again. Pan fried pork dumplings were very pretty and had a satisfying bite with some crunch. I liked the flavour but wish there was a bit more of the pork filling and that filling was less “paste-like”. Sweet and sour chicken was unfortunately really bland. Although it used chicken breast meat, the meat was not seasoned and very very dry. It was deep fried and the sauce lacked salt - not sure if my dish was missing some ingredient but we couldn’t finish this dish and had to take it home to enhance : Overall I’d come here again, and try some other items on the menu!
Grabbed dim sum at Palette Tea House and had a good time. The menu is large and varied, I'd imagine there's an option for almost anyone. The dishes we ordered were tasty, with the lava egg buns being a highlight. The vegetable dumpling was okay at best, but the noodle dish and pea sprouts we received were fantastic. Nice spot!Food: 4/5
OVERALL: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Birthday celebration on the Tuesday night and the place was deserted. It is a big place and maybe 3-4 tables were occupied. The server took a long time coming. We ordered our drinks and that took a long time also. The food came quickly and was exceptionally good. - Wagyu Beef Pot Stickers - Vegetarian Spring Rolls - Chicken Soup Dumpling - Chicken Wings - This was the only thing we regretted ordering. They were not crispy. Almost soggy. - Pan Seared Black Pepper Beef Bar - Crystal Jade Vegetarian Dumpling - Salt & Pepper Calamari - Honey walnut Prawns - Sichuan Style Chili Fish - Sichuan String Beans - Very Salty - Seafood Crispy Noodles Food Restrictions Alert - All the seafood dumplings had pork fat, so we were unable to order any. Even though we were looking forward to the dumplings and potstickers. 5-30-2023 - Dinner - Table for 5 Dietary restrictions: Food Restrictions Alert - All the seafood dumplings had pork fat, so we were unable to order any. Even though we were looking forward to the dumplings and potstickers.
Very pretty food but disappointing experience overall. We had 6:15 dinner reservations not knowing they closed and kicked people out at 7:30 sharp. An hour into our meal we were told it was “last call”. We did not get all the food we ordered even asking for it again at “last call”. We had no time for drinks or dessert and the server had no time to tell us about the menu, our dishes, or any of the pleasantries you expect when going to a somewhat nice sit down place. The soup dumplings were very good and the menu was creative, but it was not the best dim sum and far from the best service. Hope it was a fluke though because it seems like a very cool place.
This Dim Sum place is a MUST visit if you’re in the San Francisco area. The food is delicious and has gorgeous presentation big plus for the Instagram foodie crowd. Very decadent meal, be prepared to take a nice walk or nap afterwards. The restaurant is a good size, but fills up quickly. I’d recommend a reservation.Food: 5/5
9/10 One of the best for the most aesthetic dim sum in the Bay Area. Yes it’s pricey, and more of a treat for special occasions. 7/10 When it’s really packed at night the service can be a miss. They forget to refill your drinks or check up on you. 10/10 Ambiance and food aesthetic are what you’re here for honestly. More food stuff @vin.foodjournal
Good quality and good looking food but very pricey for dim sum. Granted, my friend in SF said that most dim sum places around are similar in price and might not even be as good tasting so I guess if you’re going to pay, might as well get good food here. I just feel like there are certain dishes that are “elevated” so they can charge more for the fancy ingredients but the dishes would’ve been fine in their typical form like the wagyu chow fun… do I really need wagyu in my chow fun and could I have really tasted a huge difference between that and good beef? Meh. The soup dumplings here were the only thing very underwhelming for me… not really any soup in them and very mushy for some reason. Service was also a bit slow, we basically had to call down a waitstaff every time to place the order or get the check. Still, because the food was good, I think if I lived here I’d be willing to come back.
