The Pig and Wiggill
The idea of the Pub and Diner was conceptualised by Gregg and Val Wiggill a number of years ago, this was during the time that Gregg and Val had an opportunity to take a sabbatical into Mpumalanga (whilst building their current home in Jhb) Fortunately their existing business allows for remote access providing there is Wi-Fi
On their travels, the yearning to change course, career wise was very strong - they both have a passion for people and entertaining, however the male WIGGILL, perhaps to be referred to as the PIG, has a certain flair and passion for cooking........
Gregg’s love of food and creating good food goes back to his childhood and is probably in his genes, as his Father Syd Wiggill was a renowned baker, however he became allergic to the sugar, water and flour mix, and had to give up his passion.
Later, in Greggs early teenage years where he grew up in the South of Jhb - most of his friends were Portuguese and the legendary cooking skills were shared with Gregg by the Grandmother (s) of his Portuguese friends. Reason being, Gregg had the patience to listen, take instruction in the preparation of the spices and various dishes, and learned many tricks along the way.........secrets....... that to this day he keeps close to his heart.
It became apparent that sharing our food with you would be the change we needed so badly.
