Description

The Star Academy is an Academy of learning for children with Autism and related disorders. At the Star Academy we offer one-on-one education programmes based on the principles of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis). The Star Academy is an affiliate of the Centre for Autism and Related Disorders (C.A.R.D.) based in the USA.

The Star Academy is based in Johannesburg (Highlands North and Waverley), Pretoria (Brooklyn) and Durban North (Sunningdale). Our workshop services department services children around South Africa and Africa including Zimbabwe and Ghana.

I am on the autism group on Facebook and there I saw a lot of referrals for Star Academy so I decided to check out their website as I have a 5 year little girl showing traits of autism. I read through all the information provided and decided to accept the consultation offered on their website, Ilanas wonderful team scheduled me for a consultation which was very informative and I felt like this lady really understood where I was coming from and was able to help me move forward with my little girl, they were also very sympathetic with me as I am a single mom as my husband had passed away recently so they wavered the R650 consultation fee which was absolutely wonderful of them. I now look forward to taking my little girl to their centre in JHB for an assessment and look forward to moving forward with this wonderful team of experts. Parents if you are feeling lost and confused and don't know the way forward with your autistic child, do yourself a favour and contact Ilana and her team at the Star Academy
Star Academy is an excellent institution specialised in Autism support.The staffs are gifted,experienced,well versed and take their time to understand your child and come up with a customized delivery approach for your child in order to help him. I would highly recommend them to any parent with an Autistic child or speech delays for support!
I met with Ilana from The Star Academy and it sounds like their program is the answer toy prayers to help with my child’s development. I am very excited to start this journey with their team. Ilana is kind and I could see and hear her passion to help.
Star Academy has been phenomenal in terms of the growth and progress of my son. He has come such a long way in just the space of 6 months. We have chosen The Star Academy and have been so pleased with the results gained. From my son being the boy who would not wear ANY clothing to him being fully clothed all the time, to expressing his emotions with the most descriptive words and several other achievements that have developed him into a much more independent child. The staff members are AMAZING. The care and love they shower the kids is heartwarming . Definitely the best decision i have made for my son thus far.
Finding a school suitable for my young brother was a challenge for us as a family, after long research The Start Academy was our star or rather our light at the end of our tunnel. My Little brother has gained independence, confidence and so much glow and excitement. The Star Academy is a wishing star we can always wish upon and all of our dream for our children come true
Star Academy has been instrumental in my son's development. They have made world class ABA therapy available locally, an evidence based treatment for autism which has changed the course of our lives as a family. The founder, Ilana has a genuine passion for helping children and parents trying to navigate the world of autism and our team of therapists are absolutely remarkable, ensuring that sessions are both fun and successful. We are eternally grateful to have found her and the Star Academy and I cannot recommend them enough.

My experience working at The Star Academy has been incredible thus far. As I am still a junior instructor, I have asked a number of questions to ensure that I am working to the best of my abilities. I always get a response from my fellow instructors, leads, supervisors and admin staff. I absolutely love working with these children and from the feedback groups I can see how much progress is being made within weeks. I believe that working here will definitely benefit my future goals and give me the experience that I need.
The Star Academy has been such a blessing for my son. We had very little success with other therapies. My son showed incredible progress with the ABA program. We trust the staff and they have given our son lots of love and respect. But most importantly my son loves his ABA sessions. Thanks to the team at The Star Academy.
2 weeks ago my son was seen by a neurologist and was diagnosed with autism. I was highly stressed and heart broken as I was told that my only son is now categorized as a special needs child. Although I've come  from a medical background I am not too clued up with neurological issues. That very night I did not sleep a wink I spent the entire night looking up articles on autism treatment, intervention and so forth. I then came across ilana who I read up about and what captivated me was the fact that ilana has had  2 kids that were also on the spectrum. I knew then that I needed to contact her asap and I did. Wow the first consult was mind blowing. Every symptom that I had explained to ilana she basically told me what I could do. She suggested that I stop milk and change to coconut milk it's been a week my son has shown significant progress in just a week he has stopped vocal stimming,  he hasn't suffered with constipation and has regained his speech again lost complete speech for a duration of 4 weeks. I am forever endebted to you ilana thank you for all your advice and support from sending me articles to constantly checking up on my child you are God sent. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know Drayden is destined for great things. God bless you and your precious family.
